AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance size you run. The 18 dimensions map to instance types across the t2, t3, m3, and m4 families. Smaller instances like t2.medium and m3.medium fit lighter workloads. Larger instances like m4.16xlarge and t3.2xlarge suit heavier use. Your hourly rate scales with the compute capacity of the chosen instance. You select the instance that matches your workload, and billing follows actual runtime hours. Each dimension covers the same deployment, security scanning, and 24/7 support for OpenProject.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do I actually get for the hourly rate on each instance type?
Each instance type maps to an EC2 machine size with set CPU and memory. You get OpenProject deployed on that machine, plus continuous security scanning, a control dashboard, and 24/7 support. Larger instances give more compute for heavier project workloads. The software and support are the same across all sizes.
Am I charged when my instance is stopped or paused?
Hourly software charges apply only while the instance runs. When you stop the instance, the hourly rate stops accruing. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees for attached volumes, but the metered software time only counts running hours.
How does my hourly cost change if I move to a larger instance?
Your hourly rate follows the compute capacity of the instance you run. Switching from a smaller instance like t3.medium to a larger one like m4.4xlarge changes the rate at the moment you launch the new size. Billing tracks whichever instance is actually running, hour by hour.

Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
