What do you like best about the product?
The transparent flat folders in v8.3.6, and the clear separation between the Gateway and its tags, and the application views.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think there can be more consistency/uniformity in saving settings in the various sections, and I would like to see more "inline" help in the expression functions, similar to how Microsoft Excel guides you through the formula syntax when entering.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collecting as much data from our production process for statistical analysis and quality control.

What do you like best about the product?
Cost of entry and interconnectivity between systems. Scripting is also awesome.

I wish that the scripting would have python 3.x capabilities instead of jython.

What do you like best about the product?
I like Ignition's simplicity in designing and adding new tags. It also helps keep the site producing power if something goes offline. The initial setup seems fairly easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I like there is no dark mode

Not a big fan of Inductive University but documentation is fantastic. Would also appreciate more built in context sensitive help doc links.

What do you like best about the product?
Its flexibility and universality really stand out. I can connect it to so many different data sources, and it makes the whole process incredibly easy, especially compared to other software that tries to do the same thing.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can be a challenge because there's so much to learn about what Ignition can do.

It's providing an easier way to retrieve high fidelity data in our company.

It'd be great if it could have an "easy" mode with just the basic features, then added complexity as the user needs more.

It integrates external data, PLC data, charts, tables, expressions, and more, all within a single, web-integrated environment.

It appears to be decent at lots of things
What do you dislike about the product?
The designer interface is very clunky. Honestly it feels more like an IDE from the early 2000s. "Don't forget you MUST click enter or tab here" ... "Make sure you click HERE before you do X/Y/Z or this annoying thing will happen" ... etc.

I like the openness and ability to basically do what ever you need with it. i also really like the web browser ability

The designer takes a lot of intense skill to be able to use and program stuff right
