Transforms Risk Management and Compliance
What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about IBM OpenPages is the visibility it gives us into risk and compliance across the business. Instead of reacting to issues after they become problems, we can spot trends early and see where controls are breaking down. The dashboards and reporting make it easier to explain risk to leadership in a way that actually makes sense, not just in technical terms. I also appreciate how structured it is. It forces better discipline around risk assessments, issue management, and remediation, which has improved how teams follow processes. Once it’s set up properly, it becomes a reliable source of truth that people trust, especially during audits and reviews. One thing that works especially well with IBM OpenPages is how it supports long-term consistency. Once processes are defined and embedded, it’s easier to keep everyone aligned even as teams change or new requirements come in. That stability really helps during audits and reviews because there’s a clear trail of decisions, actions, and ownership. I also like how well it handles complex structures. If you’re dealing with multiple business units, risk categories, or regulatory frameworks, OpenPages can handle that without feeling patchy. Over time, it becomes less about just meeting compliance needs and more about improving how the organization actually thinks about risk.
What do you dislike about the product?
One area that could be improved is usability. IBM OpenPages is powerful, but it can feel heavy and complex, especially for new users or teams that only use it occasionally. There’s a learning curve, and some workflows take more clicks than they probably should. Customization can also be a bit challenging. While it’s flexible, making changes to fields, workflows, or reports often requires admin support and careful planning, which slows things down when business needs change. Reporting, in particular, could be more intuitive. You can get the data you need, but it sometimes takes extra effort to build reports that are clean and easy to use without relying on technical expertise.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use IBM OpenPages to centralize risk and compliance, reducing fragmentation from spreadsheets and disconnected tools. It improves visibility into risk exposure, accountability for issues, and consistency in frameworks, making reporting reliable and decision-making easier.

I use IBM OpenPages for security purposes of my enterprise. I like most about it is that it could create and change workflows easily. It gives me control, automation, and faster decision-making.

User interface while functional, th UI may feel outdated or unintuitive compared to newer GRC tools, depending on the version used.

The flexibility of IBM OpenPages is what I value the most. I can customize the dashboards, views, objects, and reports to tailor them to the specific needs of the Bci team. This helps us make more informed decisions.

One of the things that can be challenging at first is the learning curve. IBM OpenPages is a very comprehensive tool and may require a certain investment of time to master all its functionalities.

Robust system, with lack of governance and adequate support
What do you like best about the product?
The system allows a freedom to the company's scenarios that exceeds other tools. The updates in recent years have been bringing many new items to the system, which expand its range of products and quality.
What do you dislike about the product?
IBM's team support is not adequate for the size of the company we operate in. This leaves much to be desired in this regard, which greatly reduces satisfaction with the product and other IBM products.

All the problems directed to IBM have been handled in a manner unsatisfactory to what we envision as excellence.

THE REPORTING. COGNOS DOES NOT MANAGE TO CONVINCE AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GENERATE REPORTS SINCE IT IS NOT VERY USER-FRIENDLY.
