What is our primary use case?
Altinity.Cloud is basically a cloud-hosted database service that I have tested, and I normally use it for my
RDS and
MySQL database deployment.
I could give a quick specific example of how I've used Altinity.Cloud in my development or database deployment: it is open source and it is fully managed as a database as a service, and I would say it is very good at database deployment and all these things. I generally use it for development for local things, and for example, when I have a local deployment, I connect with this for my local development.
How has it helped my organization?
Altinity.Cloud has impacted my organization positively because I generally use some of the backend services such as
AWS or
GCP, but now I am looking into some third-party options which have easy deployment and real-time analytics, as well as query optimization. These are the things that I am looking into, and that is why I chose Altinity.Cloud.
What is most valuable?
The best features Altinity.Cloud offers include that it is a fully managed database as a service, it is also fully open source so it is very good to access, there are flexible deployments, there is easy integration with some third-party tools such as Kafka, and it also has very good monitoring tools.
Out of those features, I would say the flexible deployment has made the biggest difference for me. It is easy to deploy my database, and the easy integration with tools such as Kafka and RabbitMQ makes it very easy to check if these things are integrated or not, and these are the things that I have experienced.
Since using Altinity.Cloud, I could tell you a bit more about specific results or outcomes. It automates the ClickHouse operation, such as installing, installation, scaling, backup, monitoring, and it generally allows developers to build and scale real-time analytics applications without managing the underlying infrastructure.
What needs improvement?
As for how Altinity.Cloud can be improved, I would say there are no such improvements needed. Everything is good as far as I have tested, and everything is working fine.
If I had to pick one area where Altinity.Cloud could be even better, I would say scaling should be a better point. Regarding the needed improvements, especially around product scaling, my assessment is that product scaling looks fine as far as I have seen, but for a large product, it should be more scalable from my point of view. All the things such as real-time analytics and also deploying in some of the different regions should be flexible.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Altinity.Cloud is stable.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Altinity.Cloud is good at this point in time when it comes to scalability.
How are customer service and support?
The customer support is good.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have used Altinity.Cloud alongside other solutions, and I also have
AWS and
GCP as well.
How was the initial setup?
My experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing is that everything is good. The pricing is very decent, and the setup is very good as I mentioned, with a very good installation, and the things such as backup and monitoring are all very good, so I would say everything is good as far as I know.
What was our ROI?
I have not seen a return on investment.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?
Before choosing Altinity.Cloud, I did not evaluate other options.
What other advice do I have?
The advice I would give to others looking into using Altinity.Cloud is that it is very open source, and the installation is very good. Apart from that, monitoring and all these things are very good, and you can have a different environment to look into it because AWS and GCP have a very high level of costing. I would give this product a rating of 9 out of 10.
Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
Private Cloud
If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?
Amazon Web Services (AWS)
