What do you like best about the product?
What I love most about the platform is the categorized learning. I’m able to choose a path and keep learning without having to jump from one course to another, which really helps me stay organized and gives my learning more structure.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don’t exactly dislike it, but I feel the lab experience could be better. It should be more interactive, instead of feeling like I’m just reading texts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping up to date with appsec threat/vulnerability landscape. i get to understand and try my ands on new attacks and vulnerabilities

Informative AppSec Series with Strong Threat Modeling Content

What do you like best about the product?
I loved the appSec series, which has both the basic and advanced concepts. To highlight, threat modeling course was quite informative.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing much. Just the AI based videos is a thumbs down for me personally, human touch adds extra value to the learning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There are very limited resources for AppSec overall which covers some of the key concepts like DevSecOps, thread modeling, etc. I believe AppSecEngineer bridging that gap.

Practical AppSec Content, but Trainer-Led Videos Would Improve It
Reviewed on May 19, 2026

What do you like best about the product?
The information/content. It's practical and useful from AppSec engg perspective
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish more videos to be recorded by trainers and not by automated software. Such videos lacks personal experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am getting the benefits by learning secure code fundamentals that is helping me understand how it is actually done practically and not just theoretically

What do you like best about the product?
I don't have anything good to say about this platform
What do you dislike about the product?
It's super obvious the whole website is vibe coded, I've just checked in the previous step that I'm an employee or a representative of this page. Plus the courses are obviously AI generated with bad AI generated diagrams and AI voiceover. The whole thing is bad. It feels like there was zero effort put into the React course
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was forced to watch the security videos but they are bad

What do you like best about the product?
I found the initial setup of AppSecEngineer to be easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that the site wasn't working for 2 weeks to sign up and now it won't accept payment. I submitted a help email and a Discord message, both of which have gone unanswered for two weeks. Actually having responsive support would help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I couldn't properly use AppSecEngineer at all; the site wasn't working for two weeks to sign up. Now it won't accept payment, and help emails and messages have gone unanswered.

What do you like best about the product?
I consider appsecengineer to be one of the finest learning platform for security professionals either they are beginners, analysts or security engineer. The dashboard, journeys and courses offer you a great experience and learning curve. It is just amazing to use so much user friendly. It amazing to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think there are any cons for it. I am liking it and as per now, nothing at all.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have taken TryHackme, Pentesterlab and HackTheBox subscriptions as well but appsecengineer looks like a club of all these three. Appsecengineer has journeys, courses, paths, labs and also dashboards which can track your status very smoothly. I am learning day by day and enjoying this journey.

Security training that serves more than just developers
Reviewed on Sep 24, 2025
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
As an experienced GRC professional transitioning into a more hands-on DevSecOps position, I needed to quickly get up to speed in order to contribute to cloud and application security enhancements. I initially turned to AppSecEngineer to study OWASP topics, but soon realized that this only begins to reveal the platform’s full capabilities. The platform makes it easy for users to select role-based learning paths that cover practical toolsets, ranging from secure coding and cloud security to containers, as well as various security applications and testing techniques. The support team is very responsive and resolves issues quickly. Through AppSecEngineer, which I use very frequently, I was able to leverage some open-source security tools within my organization, which helped strengthen our overall security posture.
What do you dislike about the product?
The course catalog includes a wide range of toolsets. As an engineer who often needs to get acquainted with new tools & topics, I find that adding tags to the learning videos would make it much easier to locate related content in one place.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the current landscape of cloud-native applications, security training needs to address not just code, but also cloud environments and containers. AppSecEngineer helps developers and application security engineers incorporate security into their work, starting from the design stage and continuing through to post-deployment.

Hands-on Labs and Up-to-date Content Make Learning Engaging

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate the hands-on labs that provide real environments to practice security skills. The course content is consistently updated, covering relevant topics like DevSecOps and AI security. The intuitive dashboard, progress badges, and structured learning paths help keep me motivated and on track.
What do you dislike about the product?
The sheer number of courses and labs can be overwhelming for beginners, making it hard to know where to start. Some advanced labs lack guided walkthroughs, which can leave me stuck on complex problems. Community interaction is limited, and more peer support or mentoring would be helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
