Great Kubernetes Focused Security Product

  • June 26, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
One of the leading things that led us to chose Stackrox is that it is designed for Kubernetes compared to other product where containers and kubernetes feel like an add-on
What do you dislike about the product?
When I deployed stackrox, there deployment used a combination of bash scripts, raw yaml, and helm charts. While the deployment was easy, I would have preferred something that only used Helm.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ever since we started using Kubernetes, we needed a tool that would give us insights into what was happening in our clusters from a security standpoint. Stackrox provided us with the insights we wanted in addition to a lot of other information we didn't even know we wanted.

Compliance, visibility, and vulnerability management for k8s. Great tool for SOC-2 compliance.

  • June 08, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
StackRox has simplified compliance for us. We get a view in one place of how well we’re meeting the controls from CIS Benchmarks, NIST, PCI, and HIPAA and SOC-2.
We really needed something for SOC-2 compliance, vulnerability management, IDS, k8s secrets issues, auditing access to customer environments, etc. StackRox ... rocks for this.
Filling in vendor security assessments became much easier after we deployed StackRox.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a command line person, I would have preferred to have more functionality in the command line tool, but I still have to explore that a bit more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
filling in security vendor assessments (we're a security company) and automatically generating compliance reports from the dashboard for SOC-2 compliance.

Enhanced visibility into our container vulnerabilities

  • May 08, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Stackrox has provided us the ability to scan thousands of deployments to surface risky configuration details, detect which CVEs our images are impacted by, and alert on any unapproved image details we deem unfit for production. These advancements in visibility have given us the ability to make more informed decisions, keep up with our growing scale, and respond quickly to risky changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lacking strong network profile enforcement rules
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Prior to Stackrox, we had little visibility into vulnerabilities in our k8s environment even with the native tools

Compliance, visibility, and vulnerability management for k8s and containers

  • April 27, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Deep integrations with Kubernetes means we understand our environment and its risks a lot better
What do you dislike about the product?
Some pre-defined policies didn't work out of the box
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
StackRox made it easy for us to get visibility and control of our container and Kubernetes environments

Lightweight tool to fulfil our compliance and vulnerability management requirements

  • April 27, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
StackRox’s feature to automatically compare our k8s setup against best practice and its capability to monitor the system on an ongoing basis is extremely valuable to us. The system helps us to fulfil our security compliance requirements. At the same time StackRox is light weight and minimal intrusive.
What do you dislike about the product?
We don't have any complaints at the moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security Compliance and Vulnerability Management: It gives us insights out of the box, with preconfigured catalog of requirements and best practices.

Stackrox works

  • April 20, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simple and easy to get up and running to get to value fast, clean ui. Comes with outbound connectors for a number of products to allow you to get it integrated into your stack quickly as well. Compliance frameworks/controls come with more than just the control but the reference to the original text to let you get back to the word of the framework itself for your own knowledge or interpretation.
What do you dislike about the product?
Real pain to add users (can't use web interface, have to use CLI which seems like a big miss), no ability to create custom benchmarks to track more than the few frameworks already existing in the product (this is apparently in the works however).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Container visibility was the primary problem for us to solve, simpler integration of what would have been a number of other tools we'd have needed to manage to reap the same rewards is the key benefit. We're able to get to and show our auditors the required data in a much more streamlined manner now as well as expose the generation of a lot of this data to our compliance folks in a much easier way.

Easy to integrate product with a very helpful team behind it.

  • April 06, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy integration and quick time to results. Makes it easy to quickly triage security issues in k8s environments.
What do you dislike about the product?
Requires a decent bit of configuration to get it most effective results. But less so than other products in the space.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security observability in cross cloud k8s environments. Has provided additional benefits in bolstering overall security posture and contractual security obligations during reviews.

What do you like best about the product?
It is simple, easy to use, provides wealth of information, addresses compliance, and excellent real time support.
What do you dislike about the product?
None. We think it is a great product. If there is one thing we would add it would be a SaaS version of the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Build, deploy and runtime security for containers in AWS,Azure and GCP

  • October 02, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Stackrox offers K8s native security implementation. It uses underlying k8 tech such as network policies and admission controllers to implement security policies. Also stackrox has various integrations with container registries and ops tool that makes devops like easier to deploy and run container security tool in their environment.
Stackrox is also a great partner that works with us to refine feature set. Their CSM team is knowledgeable who is ready to listen to customer and relay customers asks to engineering team
What do you dislike about the product?
Stackrox is not yeta true SaaS solution. It would be easier for us if it offered cloud hosted service. Also need a tight integration with ticket management system
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used stackrox for
1. Vulnerability Management (build and runtime)
2. Network policies and micro-segmentation
3. Compliance dashboards

Easiest way to natively secure Kubernetes

  • September 19, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
At an executive level I am able to assess and report on the health of our SaaS infrastructure thanks to StackRox. The dashboards, graphs and charts help us monitor and then prioritize our infrastructure work.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first there is a lot of information and it can be overwhelming to sort through.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
StackRox is bringing visibility into the risks in our Kubernetes environment. It then gives us a way to remediate those risks in a kube native way.
