What do you like best about the product?

AI-forward accelerator for zero - one science and engineering initiatives to solve for world’s most challenging problem.

What do you dislike about the product?

Not much. Maybe industry specific, but would love to get more focus on industrial, scientific, and physical AI applications.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Accelerated learning cycles for engineering, insight discovery, and co-building as we develop first-of-a-kind battery materials, reactors and factories to support a faster transition to clean energy at scale.

What do you like best about the product?

Everything is code based, so we can have confidence and be able to review and therefore trust the data

What do you dislike about the product?

It can be hard to manage permissions, but that is more on IT provisioning our employees

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Getting answers to questions and helping make decisions across the org

What do you like best about the product?

I love the culture and also the innovation around Hex. I enjoy using the generative apps and how I can do anything(!) with it. That being said, the classic apps have served us very well - the ability to call different libraries and packages in Python has allowed us to have many different kinds of visualizations.

What do you dislike about the product?

The runtime is not always the best. Additionally, we use our dashboards and share them out to external users, and I don't feel like Hex especially equips us to be able to do that natively. I wish I could have more customization in terms of my apps - but that's being solved by the generative apps function, Customer service is fine, but a lot of times I run into the constraint of not being able to share my notebook due to the sensitive nature of our data, so the advice becomes relegated to being rather general and unhelpful. Also not necessarily a dislike but I would love to see some more tutorials on how to use some of the features they are constantly pumping out.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Hex has been able to help us effectively scale our reporting to a larger number of external clients. Rather than share out stale powerpoints and PDFs, we share with our stakeholders our reports, can update them timely when we need, and give them the flexibility to plug and play when they need. Hex has also given us a centralized repository for code and notebooks that everyone on the team can see and use.

What do you like best about the product?

Collaborative work products and shared assets help us build scale. The alternative is having analytics resources spend their time troubleshooting other people’s VLOOKUPs. We’re not going back.

What do you dislike about the product?

I’m hopeful that Hex keeps building independently. Please don’t go the way of Platfora, Cognos, SPSS, Actuate, Vertica… RIP.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Context Surface! We use it to provide governed access to our data assets.

What do you like best about the product?

I use Hex for data analysis and sharing information. I like that it makes data analysis shareable and brings more engineers closer to the code. Notebook sharing is wonderful, and I like how easy it is to make apps. The agent has really improved.

What do you dislike about the product?

I find Hex’s development capabilities poor for my workflow, especially when it comes to local repo installations.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Hex for shareable data analysis and to bring more engineers closer to the code.

I like Hex for product analytics and experimentation, as well as data analysis and ad hoc analysis. I like Threads and the integration of SQL and Python notebooks. The initial setup was easy, and I highly recommend Hex.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Hex for data analysis and ad hoc analysis.

What do you like best about the product?

I like Hex’s workflow concept for data analytics and that everything is in code. As an engineer, I like being able to change the architecture and designs in code and maintain versions of those changes. I also like learning about agentic problem-solving and seeing how Hex works with the other tools we use in our applications. Setup was so easy: I learned the Hex concept within a day, it was easy to implement, and the team adapted.

What do you dislike about the product?

I don’t see Hex currently addressing the downstream BI needs of users who connect to Tableau, get extracts, and load them into their environments as CSV or PDF files. I’d like to extend the Python libraries we use for coding so I can better extract data and carry it to the business. I also want to integrate Hex with Databricks and support version maintenance in the coding workflow.

I use Hex’s workflow to work through data analytics problems on the business analytics side.

What do you like best about the product?

Code based and easy to generate and share data apps

What do you dislike about the product?

Data apps are slow once deployed and shared and editing a cell sometimes runs the entire notebook. AI features don’t feel as native.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Ad hoc analysis, with the ability to share vetted analysis.

What do you like best about the product?

I like being able to quickly edit dashboards, chat with the AI to answer business questions, and connect all of our semantic models and context to Hex via the CLI.

What do you dislike about the product?

It makes us overly dependent on AI, which could end up being costly in the long run.

Answering stakeholder questions and empowering users to self serve using verified and governed data.

Slow app interface, sometimes provides different answers for same question
