Reliable API Mocking Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Our team has had a very positive experience using WireMock. It’s reliable, easy to use, and has helped streamline our development and test automation processes. We appreciate how much smoother and more reliable our test automation have become since we started using WireMock. They are eager to listen our feedback and fast to iterate over new functionality that might be missing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing that would so far jump to my mind.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have multiple data sources that our application integrate to and the testing data between these services are not consistent. We also don't want to cause any extra load to our data sources, and WireMock allows us to solve both getting consistent mock data and being reliable available when needed.
Effortless API Mocking
What do you like best about the product?
Having previously used the WireMock desktop tool, I was already a fan of the core functionality. But the lack of a built-in interface made API creation difficult. WireMock Cloud solves this by offering a simple web interface that makes the entire process incredibly easy. The web application allows us to get new mock endpoints up and running quickly, which has greatly increased our development speed. We really like the request recorder, which is excellent for quickly creating mocks of existing API integrations. The response body templating is also a powerful and robust feature, useful for simulating a wide range of real-world scenarios. Honestly, I can't think of any features I'd like added; the product covers all our needs very well.
What do you dislike about the product?
A few small nitpicks. The pricing structure, which incorporates both user and request limits, can be a little confusing at first. However, the company has been very accommodating and willing to work with us when overages occur. Also, it can be difficult to find specific request endpoints in the application, especially when an API has a large number of them. Finally, we’d appreciate a feature that provides a history of changes to endpoints, including who made the changes, for better team collaboration and auditing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company works with third-party services a lot. We set up Mock APIs for each of our integration partners to help with development and QA. Each partner has its own peculiarities and nuances, but we are able to set up mock endpoints to easily test both standard workflows and edge cases. For instance, our team recently added an SSO login feature to the product. Wiremock's OpenID Connect one-click deployment template allowed us to quickly create an OpenID Connect API for development and testing.

What do you like best about the product?
It helps in mocking the Api's and we can add json so that it can send mock response the same way we want.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can consume a significant amount of resource while you are running it in your computer, which may slow down the performance of the computer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When we are developing an application, we have to develop both frontend and backend. While developing front end, we need some mock data to efficiently develop the front end. If the backend is not ready, we can use wiremock to mock the api and use it for developing front end.
Great API Mocking tool in the cloud
What do you like best about the product?
All mocking features of the WireMock OSS made easy using an online interface. What stood out is the ability for the product to upload and manage data sources almost similar to a mini DBMS. It has a good knowledgebase which makes it easy to integrate. And the WireMock cloud team is always ready to answer questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
None at this stage as WireMock ticks all our API mocking requirements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
API mocking, Integration testing, Parallel development with different teams, Stateful API mocking, Fake data generation, Fake data management, and Hard to recreate errors like network errors.

What do you like best about the product?
Powerful mocking tools for quick API development & testing. If you already use OAS as part of defining your business's APIs, then making use of Wiremock becomes easy.

The admin APIs are not the easiest to use without direct support as of today.

We use Wiremock for gateway mocking, and are looking to integrate more for internal testing.

What do you like best about the product?
Its ability to mock services is invaluable, allowing us to simulate complex scenarios and responses without relying on live environments or client data. The user-friendly GUI is another standout feature of WireMock. It simplifies the process of creating, managing, and monitoring mocks, making it accessible even for those who may not be as familiar with coding or complex configurations. The ability to easily import and export JSON files adds to its flexibility, enabling seamless integration into our workflows.
Moreover, the support team at WireMock is excellent—responsive, and prompt in addressing any issues we encounter. The available tutorials are also very helpful, providing clear guidance and best practices to get the most out of the tool.

What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit pricey, especially for smaller teams or organizations with limited budgets. This may make it less accessible for those who need a reliable mocking service but are constrained by financial considerations.

Enably testing by generating test data through mocking backend services which remove any dependency on client data
Simple to use and effective. Game-changer for our CI
What do you like best about the product?
We've used WireMock Cloud for almost a year now to augment our end to end API testing processes. The API mocks were incredibly simple for our team to learn and implement (we got this up and running in our CI within a couple days), and we have far more confidence in the integrity of our system because of it. We've found WireMock especially useful in cases where we need to mock third party api dependencies.
Their web platform is also easy to navigate and allows us to effectively track usage. The WireMock team is also very responsive and helps answer any questions we have about the tools. I would recommend them to anyone!

Effective ways to mock APIs in our CI testing

What do you like best about the product?
WireMock is super useful for mocking APIs. It provides a simple, efficient & easy to use way of enabling us to remove blockers in our testing. It has the flexibility to mock both simple & complex services.
We utilise WireMock on a regular basis in order to run our automated test suite. It provides us with the confidence in the change we are looking to deliver to our customers.
In addition, I have always found the customer support from WireMock to be superb. Whenever we have encountered any challenges, which has been rare, they have always been super helpful & resolved any issues raised.

We haven't encountered any downside to using WireMock as present.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
WireMock is currently solving the issue we have in our non-production environment whereby data for particular scenarios can be a challenge to identify. WireMock enables us to mock responses from our APIs which means we can quickly identify issues with our code way before it impacts our customers.
WireMock Makes Mocking API Test Easier
What do you like best about the product?
WireMock is really useful for mock APIs, from simple RESTful services to complex SOAP-based systems. WireMock can match incoming requests based on many criteria, e.g. the URL, HTTP method, request headers, and request body. This makes mocking APIs in a realistic way. It can also be used to stub specific requests with specific responses. This is really useful for testing different scenarios, such as successful responses, error responses, and even timeouts. WireMock can be deployed using Docker so that it can be isolated.
What do you dislike about the product?
WireMock can be complex to set up and use, especially for complex APIs. When working on a complex API scenario, it can be time-consuming to create and maintain the stubs. Debugging can be tricky because it needs access to the log to see what's going on internally.

WireMock can be used to speed up the tests by mocking slow or unreliable APIs. It can be used to make tests more reliable by isolating them from external factors, such as network connectivity and API downtime. It also can be used to test the application against a real API without having to deploy it to a production.
