What do you like best about the product?

I started working with Checkmk for the first time 3 years ago and was able to quickly familiarize myself with its functionality and procedures. The documentation is also very helpful in this regard - especially for plugin development.

What do you dislike about the product?

What bothers me at the moment is that I always have to restart Apache when developing native plugins, for example, to test small adjustments in the Bakery Rule for the plugin.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

With Checkmk, we can operate many remote sites without much configuration effort. Additionally, the functionality of the agents helps us to deploy our own scripts on the distributed systems with little effort and run them cyclically.

What do you like best about the product?

I greatly appreciate the configuration and extension options of checkmk, as they allow us to connect various applications and systems, even if they are not supported by default. Additionally, I find it very easy to set up checkmk once you understand the ruleset.

What do you dislike about the product?

Agent Bakery, auto-registration, individual signature keys per customer.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

With Checkmk, we don't miss any critical errors on the systems and can react in advance. The configuration and extension options allow us to connect various applications and systems, even if they are not supported by default.

The speakers are very interesting anf i can teally monitor everything with checkmk

Its a bit difficult to update when using a lot of remote sites

We monitor our and client‘s infrastructure and it is very useful

What do you like best about the product?

I appreciate checkmk's straight-to-the-point monitoring. Even though the UI may look old, the results show clearly. The agents and SNMP are really effective, making it easy to monitor thousands of services on a wide range of network devices and vendors. I find it simple to add or modify new checks based on existing SNMP data.

What do you dislike about the product?

Agent downloads in 2.4 are difficult in MSP setups. Hope 2.5 makes it better. Agent downloads via API are from a central site in a distributed setup. The central site might not be reachable by clients being set up as they are in a different network segment.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Checkmk to scale monitoring to thousands of services and handle data segregation across customers. It offers straight to point monitoring and effective SNMP integration, making it easy to add or modify checks for network devices.

What do you like best about the product?

It helps getting a full stack overview, not only about your network environment but also deep within application monitoring. Many different systems can be monitored and the software can easily be expanded.

What do you dislike about the product?

In large scale environments, it is sometimes too slow, as it has many different components interacting with each other. Also there are fixed limits within several configuration options that do not scale well with large scale environments.

Reducing downtimes by monitoring the important things

The networking capabilities and the plugin addition

On upgrades, some features and plugins are not compatible or vanish

It’s a powerful tool that gives a comprehensive overview of the full context. It was easy to set up and quick to implement, which made getting started straightforward.

It should adopt a vision that’s even more closely aligned with the community.

I use checkmk to monitor machines at clients, and it really helps me ensure security. I really like the structure and ease of use of checkmk, especially the graphical interface which is simple to use. Additionally, the initial setup was simple, which is a great advantage.
