Easy Query Creation and Budget-Friendly Open-Source Tool
What do you like best about the product?
It’s easy to create queries, and since it’s open source, it’s budget-friendly to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dashboard creation UI could be improved.

Metabase: Intuitive user-friendliness with small hurdles
What do you like best about the product?
I love the Question feature of Metabase, which allows for the creation of no-code SQL queries that can be easily and intuitively answered even by non-technical users. It's great that you can access joinable fields in Questions without an active join, provided the table documentation is well utilized. This makes it a breeze to create entire dashboards in a short amount of time. I also like the customizability of Metabase, which, while not offering all the possibilities like Tableau, enables 95% of the needed visualizations and makes them sufficiently customizable.
What do you dislike about the product?
A few more visualizations and the output of specific query results in text boxes are only possible through workarounds. Heat maps are completely missing, but they are fundamentally important. Otherwise, I wish for a union feature in Questions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Metabase, I visualize data from our DWH and answer complex questions for all departments of the company. It is intuitive for non-technical users and allows for quick dashboard creation for data analysts. Metabase is functionally between Tableau (complicated but comprehensive) and Looker (simple but lacking).
Easy Coding and Intuitive Report Editor That Gets the Job Done
What do you like best about the product?
It’s very easy to code and generate the required reports. The editor is also very intuitive, and the app is user-friendly overall.
What do you dislike about the product?
It sometimes lags a bit, but it still gets the job done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A large amount of data can be stored easily. It’s also easy to download in CSV, XSL, or JSON format, and the formatting is very good. This makes it easier to search and find any information about our clients. Everyone in my organization uses it.
Clear Table Views, But Processing Speed Needs Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
The view of a table is very easy to see on metabase.
What do you dislike about the product?
The processing speed is quite low as compared to other softwares.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visualization for teams and for management, rather than looking on row level data.
Intuitive and Versatile for Business Analytics
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Metabase is simple and can be used by both users who know how to query and those who don't, thanks to their dashboarding filter. It makes databases extremely easy to understand. I appreciate that the software is lightweight, works on the cloud, and it's very easy to configure reports. The setup is very intuitive and it's very easy to pull data and fetch databases, as well as configure the visibility of each database. So yeah, I'd say it's amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
The visualization and dashboards could be better. I think the type of charts available could be better. Second is I think they don't have an integrated AI yet. So maybe an inbuilt AI to write queries would be good.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Metabase solves the problem of business analytics and metrics availability, making data easy to analyze with simple querying, dashboarding, and reporting.

Integration can be challenging, customer support feels limited, and I don’t use it frequently due to these gaps. It also struggles with advanced requirements, reducing its usefulness for deeper, scaled analytics.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Metabase helps me quickly analyze business performance, track funnels, and monitor team productivity without complex tools. It centralizes our data into simple dashboards, enabling faster decision-making, reduced manual reporting, and clearer visibility into key operational and sales metrics.

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate Metabase for its user-friendly UX that greatly facilitates data visualization, especially for non-data users. It allows for the easy creation of charts, which makes the process straightforward and accessible without requiring deep technical knowledge. This ease of use is particularly valuable as it empowers various team members, regardless of their data expertise, to engage with data insights effectively.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that Metabase could benefit from having an AI assistant that understands the databases and assists in building queries. This feature would significantly ease the process of creating data consultations without any SQL knowledge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Metabase for data visualization, providing a great UX for non-data users and enabling easy chart creation and SQL querying of our database.

Scheduling reports and setting up alerts helps keep everyone informed, while role-based permissions protect our data and ensure only the right people have access. Implementation and integration with our databases and APIs was straightforward. We rely on Metabase daily to deliver useful reports to both our internal teams and external customers. It has truly enabled us to make confident, data-driven decisions. The platform is user-friendly for both technical and non-technical users who prefer to avoid complex SQL queries. We never need to contact the customer support because the onboarding and operational workflows are comprehensive. Highly recommend!

The product provides excellent features, though I feel the user interface could be more dynamic and functional. Still, the cost-to-performance ratio is unmatched, which is why we appreciate it.

Metabase enables us to generate custom reports based on our chosen source filters, timeseries periods, and metrics. We rely on Metabase as our Reporting Engine, working with various data sources and timeseries. The platform allows us to further refine our reports by applying additional filters to the resulting datasets. Its visualization capabilities are highly effective and can be customized to fit our specific requirements. We have integrated dashboards directly into our internal tools, providing our team with a polished and professional way to track key metrics. The option to drill down into charts and use dynamic filters has made it easy to discover insights and share them with the team. Scheduled reports and alerts help keep everyone informed, while role-based permissions protect our data and ensure that only authorized users have access. The intuitive query builder stands out, making it simple for us to filter, summarize, and explore data with ease. Hence, it solves all our reporting needs.
