What do you like best about the product?

I really like Sovos for its facility to navigate all state health checklists. This feature is really handy because it lets me see updates as they get posted on state websites. Another great thing is the validation checks, which are crucial for ensuring our financial statements are correct and align with corepages. These checks act as a final verification step before filing the statements to NAIC. The initial setup was also very easy, which was a nice surprise.

What do you dislike about the product?

I have an issue with Sovos related to rounding off. It takes quite a bit of time because it only works with whole numbers instead of numbers with decimals. This could definitely be improved to make things more efficient.

Sovos helps ensure our financial statements align with NAIC guidelines and provides validation checks that verify our reports before filing. It simplifies checking updates across state health lists and ensures compliant reporting, though rounding off issues persist.

It takes more time to extract the zip files to be submitted to NAIC. The turnaround time for this process could be reduced, and the server could be improved to extract the data more quickly.

Return Filing is now soo poor as we unable to see invoice number in the return data report which is must for our reconciliation before filing to the department.

Our biggest challenge has been communicating with our report preparer. They're in the Eastern Time Zone, and we're in the Mountain Time Zone, so our overlapping work hours are limited. This can make it harder to connect quickly when we have questions or need clarification.

Interfaces with SAP are improving at this moment in order to be an automatic process.
