What do you like best about the product?
Pantheon’s uptime and speed are very reliable compared to other hosting I’ve used.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing is on the higher side, especially if you’re working with smaller projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pantheon saves me from worrying about server setup and maintenance. I don’t have to deal with downtime or performance issues, which lets me focus on building and improving websites.

Great value for running Drupal websites for small business
What do you like best about the product?
Drupal websites performing well on Pantheon under the Basic plan.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not exactly a dislike but it would be nice if Solr search were included in the Basic plan as the Drupal's built-in search performs really poorly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provides Dev, Test and Live environments to manage database and code changes easily and intuitively. As a result DevOps issues have been reduced compared to our prior solution.
Reliable servers and good support
What do you like best about the product?
The sites have had very little downtime if at all. The support is usually pretty good, helping us out usually rather quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are times when using command line tools like Terminus and GIT when doing things with Composer where things sometimes just "get stuck" on Pantheon's side and they have to fix it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently not using Pantheon for any problem solving.
Multi-dev and simple workflows make Pantheon a favourite amongst developers
What do you like best about the product?
- Multi-dev environments are a huge help for development and client teams to spend time building and reviewing new work outside of the normal development workflow
- WordPress MultiSite features
- Performance testing process

They make managing 40+ websites easy
What do you like best about the product?
We have 40+ websites hosted with Pantheon. They're consistently updating the platform, and trying to help us win business. The team is also incredible to work with. They make it simple to create a new site and perform updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to come up with any downsides. Their team is on it as soon as any deficit might be found.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Panthon makes updates automated, and easy to programmatically hook into with our own custom needs.
Best WebOps/DevOps platform
What do you like best about the product?
I have been Pantheon user since it was started and this is best WebOps/DevOps platform. It has great UI for both coders and site builders, supports both terminal operations and UI operations, supports three major CMS (Wordpress, BackdropCMS and Drupal), works with custom upstream, etc. One of the greatest about this platform is exemplary customer support that always exceeds expectations!!
What do you dislike about the product?
Billing could be set up better for larger organizations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Pantheon solving all problems with setting web environments, providing dev and stage and multidev (all is done instantly), moving code, db and files between environments and allowing me to spend time on actual site building adn web development instead of spending hours on devOps.
From unknowns to custom transparency
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the consistent framework that Pantheon provides for spinning up a continuous integration continuous development pipeline. We were not able to have access to these features in our previous host and spent a lot of time debugging around the provided processes. In Pantheon, they provide you with a solid process, tools for that process (terminus), and the freedom to build your own pipeline. This has been a game changer as we have gotten our deployment down from over 3 hours to, at max, 15 minutes. Along with this is their customer support - it is by far the best support I have ever received from a company. I will have actionable insights by the end of the day without having to write a novel and wait for requests for additional information on our issue from people who clearly did not know our specific product.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times the roll your own pipeline can be frustrating, especially when debugging an issue that you've created yourself. I'll look back ever once in awhile and think a process would be easier if there was just a turn-key solution for this one use case, but then I remember all of the additional things we get access to such as parallel deployment, multidev, integration with GitHub Actions, Terminus, more solid environments. With all the added benefits the extra time to build something specific for use case makes this the perfect hosting platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a single code-base that is used to power hundreds of sites. We needed a hosting partner that could support being able to make a single update in this codebase and in a single update with a development crew of three people (two front-end developers and one back-end) push this out to all hundreds of these sites. From the get go, I was able to transfer all these sites from the previous hosting environment to Pantheon in a single day. This did require an on-ramp of about three months to develop the custom scripting but the actual work took less than a day. Updating DNS took a little longer as anticipated; however, in Pantheon with Terminus we've greatly integrated GitHub Actions for a solid ci/cd pipeline that is bulletproof.
We run through cypress testing, linting and Drupal Code standards before the code is even pushed to Dev. We have up to 10 open pull requests at any time where we can go to our canary sites and test with live data. Then we we go to publish a release we use Autopilot to for visual regression testing. We're no longer debugging build issues at the time of release as these are all ironed out before the code even makes it to multidev. I calculated this out to about 52 hours I personally get back every year. This allows us to add additional safe-guards.
For example, we have one chunk of code that always requires a database update if our front-end devs touch it. They always forget, so we now have an additional check in GitHub to make sure if those files are checked that additional approvals are needed. I would not have had this time to develop these extra tools in our previous host.
Additionally, I have further developed out local development processes to be more streamlined with this added time such as adding hash checks to see if we really need a composer build or theme build when merging in other work. With the guardrails that Pantheon puts in place that standardizes how builds should be once you crack your pipeline you can focus on building the tools that will help you build more with less.
