Easy-to-Use Website with Quick Sovos Support and Lifesaving 1099 Tutorials
What do you like best about the product?
Website is easy to use, Sovos Support is quick to respond. On Demand tutorial was a lifesaver submitting 1099 reports.
What do you dislike about the product?
The procedure seems to change a little every year, but as long as the tutorial/training video is available it's fine.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can enter 1099 for recent acquisitions that are not fully integrated into our own ERP for the tax year.

1) Your helpdesk (although I think a phone number should be added)

1) I'm sorry i can no longer call to get quick answers to certain questions
2) I think the system should be more user friendly and walk us thru the process (remember, we only use the software once a year.
3) I think there should be some banner or fanfare when the process is done. Even Turbotax offers a visual "complete" cartoon

Excellent Customer Service, Great for Tax Compliance
What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate the most about Sovos is their excellent customer service. They are very responsive, accommodating, and easy to work with. They listen to our feedback and requests. I give Sovos a high rating because of that.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because we're in the older version, SUT and not GTD, we run into some challenges. It sometimes cannot or does not support certain complex tax rules or tax legislations from specific states. However, when we contact Sovos, they try to be accommodating as much as they can.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Sovos tax engine, and it handles product mapping, tax rates and rules assignment in various jurisdictions.

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate the support team at Sovos, as they are very responsive, which greatly enhances my experience and ensures that any issues I encounter are promptly and effectively addressed. Their swift assistance is invaluable, particularly when dealing with complex tax determination scenarios. This responsiveness contributes significantly to streamlining operations and maintaining seamless workflow within our systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that the compliance portal, which is used for raising incident tickets and downloading regulatory updates, requires a separate URL and login. It would be more efficient if this portal were embedded within the main platform, allowing for a single login like in the production environment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Sovos for calculating tax rates based on specific addresses, and their support team is very responsive.

What do you like best about the product?
The seamless integration between Sovos and SAP is extremely valuable because it ensures smooth transaction processing with very little manual intervention. Additionally, the sales tax filing service saves significant time, allowing users to focus on reviewing issues and identifying improvements for future compliance strategies.

While Sovos provides strong integration and automation, the least helpful aspect is that the user interface can feel complex at times, especially when troubleshooting or making manual adjustments. Additionally, reporting options could be more intuitive and customizable to make analysis easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sovos solves the complexity of sales and use tax compliance by automating tax calculations, filings. Having all these capabilities within one software platform is a major advantage because it centralizes processes, eliminates the need for multiple systems, and provides a single source of truth for tax compliance. This frees up time to focus on reviewing issues and driving process improvements. Adding AI is a significant benefit as it will accelerates processes that would normally take weeks to accomplish and I'm looking forward to using it.
