  • March 30, 2026
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Sharepoint 2010 on Windows server 2012r2-24x7 is that it is one tool for collaboration that we all need. I use Sharepoint as an enterprise solution to allow my team to collaborate and share information and files effectively. As an enterprise solution, I have used this for several very large programs that I have been in charge of the technical side.

One specific example of how my team uses Sharepoint for collaboration and file sharing in one of those large programs is a massive database retooling for our application suite. The second large program was for a very large divestiture, to ensure all data belonging to the divested team is identified and transmitted to the purchasing organization. We have team Sharepoint 2010 on Windows server 2012r2-24x7 sites set up for both programs and within the various workstreams. Each workstream had its own site.

What is most valuable?

The best features Sharepoint 2010 on Windows server 2012r2-24x7 offers are collaboration and sharing of information, security, and allowing access to only those individuals with a need to know what data is shared.

Sharepoint 2010 on Windows server 2012r2-24x7 has positively impacted my organization by making processes easier and improving productivity. Saving files and keeping all revisions has been a great advantage for us. Occasionally, we would somehow have an issue with one or two users not seeing the latest document, which was a minor annoyance, but after a few minutes, we were able to get back on track due to Sharepoint 2010 on Windows server 2012r2-24x7.

What needs improvement?

Sharepoint 2010 on Windows server 2012r2-24x7 can be improved with more rendering options and controls.

Collaborative document work has increased and secure sharing now streamlines daily projects

  • March 30, 2026
  • Review from a verified AWS customer

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for Sharepoint 2010 on Windows server 2012r2-24x7 is as a repository for documents and for sharing documents for co-editing and co-creation. It is a good way to get collaboration across a wide range of people and expertise within my organization to ensure we address all concerns during creation instead of spending meetings to come to consensus afterward.

How has it helped my organization?

Sharepoint 2010 on Windows server 2012r2-24x7 has positively impacted my organization by greatly increasing our collaboration, especially between departmental and remote collaboration. The security for our data and files has been boosted as we now feel much safer and less concerned about security data breaches. We are more secure because the security has greatly increased.

Improved collaboration and security have made a measurable difference as it has saved money instead of getting a full document management system, saved money instead of getting a full onboarding training system, and saved time and money using it to integrate with other systems like Salesforce.

What is most valuable?

The best features Sharepoint 2010 on Windows server 2012r2-24x7 offers are controlled access, shared content, shared creation, and very scalable integration.

Integration is an important aspect as Sharepoint 2010 on Windows server 2012r2-24x7 helps me manage permissions and connect with other tools. We have well-documented API that provides us a way to quickly integrate with any application we want.

What needs improvement?

Sharepoint 2010 on Windows server 2012r2-24x7 can be improved with better documentation, especially the online documentation for new learners.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I previously used Google Drive as a different solution.

I switched from Google Drive to Sharepoint 2010 on Windows server 2012r2-24x7 because I prefer Sharepoint over Google Drive for its organization. I believe Sharepoint keeps things much more organized than Google Drive. Additionally, when you purchase Sharepoint, you typically get the rest of the Microsoft suite. However, Google Drive has advantages over Sharepoint in that Google Drive is free and also shows you your most recently visited documents.

How was the initial setup?

I purchased Sharepoint 2010 on Windows server 2012r2-24x7 through the AWS Marketplace.

What was our ROI?

I have seen a return on investment as it has made organizing documents much easier and does not require me to pay someone to create a bunch of folders on a drive. It helps with efficiency by consolidating all documents in one place. Sometimes, if a folder is in a confusing spot, it can take extra time for certain people to find what they are looking for, but the great search functionality makes it very easy to find what I am looking for even if I do not know where it is, thus saving a lot of time.
