    What is our primary use case?

    Our major use case is to run some of our UI and API components.

    What is most valuable?

    Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 9 with support by ProComputers is more stable, and when it comes to vulnerability, it provides a much more secure environment, especially for banking organizations where security is a major concern. It provides a secured OS compared to versions 7 or 8. This helps ensure the system is secured from various vulnerabilities, providing a trusted platform for critical operations.

    What needs improvement?

    With the AI evolution, we cannot afford to wait longer for releases and patches which should go in a rapid way. We are looking for a vendor who can address vulnerabilities on time, or enterprises have to be capable of handling risks. Open-source communities should release patched versions frequently for quicker vulnerability remediation.

    For how long have I used the solution?

    We have been using this solution for seven years.

    What do I think about the stability of the solution?

    Stability is one of the advantages and is on point.

    What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

    It is very easy to scale. Under the hood, we can add additional servers for horizontal scalability. At the pod level, application layer scalability is managed effectively on the platform side. It provides smooth provisioning, necessary for big data technologies, unlike past challenges with other infrastructures.

    How are customer service and support?

    I would rate customer service at a seven out of ten, with ten being the best. Recently, I faced issues in security context mapping, and there was not prompt support. Generally, customer service is good for normal issues, but custom needs require more responsiveness. This rating is based on my experience.

    Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

    We were using VMware, PCF, and TKG from VMware. Compared to that, we have much better control with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 9 with support by ProComputers. Currently, a proof of concept is ongoing with Google Kubernetes Engine compared to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 9 with support by ProComputers.

    How was the initial setup?

    I believe the setup is easy, but I cannot comment much more on it. There is another team who uses Terraform or Ansible scripts for infrastructure provisioning. They eventually hand over the cluster to us for further application configuration and management.

    What about the implementation team?

    There is a completely different infrastructure team who takes care of the cluster build out and provisions it for us.

    What was our ROI?

    With 10,000 cores, we serve 800 compute-heavy users for $3 million yearly, compared to $1 million monthly for 300 users on public cloud. Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 9 with support by ProComputers is almost 10 to 12 times cheaper, significantly reducing costs with the right in-house expertise for cluster building and management.

    What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

    For 10,000 cores, Red Hat charges $3 million yearly, serving 800 users with a 40,000 cores cluster costing more.

    Which other solutions did I evaluate?

    We were using VMware, PCF, and TKG from VMware earlier.

    What other advice do I have?

    Currently, we are not using AI on third-party platforms such as Harness and GCP for security reasons. AI presence is deliberately limited. I would rate this product an eight out of ten overall.
