GitLab as a Powerful Central Hub for Repos, Reviews, and Automation
Reviewed on Oct 07, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Gitlab is used extensively as the central hub of our team based workflow that handles repositories, branches, pull requests, and code reviews. Feature branches are used to control the scope of development work, and pull requests are used for reviewing, communicating, and ultimately merging changes. With Gitlab Actions, we automate testing and deployment tasks, and issues are used as a common repository of development and bug tracking.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface can feel a bit cluttered when we have lots of repos, branches, pull requests, and notifications going on simultaneously. Creating more complex GitLab Actions workflows may require a bit of technical experience for advanced CI/CD workflows. Some admin and security features require upgrading to higher-tier plans and can be costly as our team grows.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GitLab is a single source control, code review, issue tracking, and CI/CD automation platform. It helps us team members to align during the development process, avoiding time spent around transferring files and wasting time arguing about edits on a code file. Pull requests and automated testing lead to more stable releases, and Actions means less time spent on runs and deployments, and more knowledge of what's happening in the process.

GitLab Keeps Repos, Pipelines, and Deployments in One Place
Reviewed on Oct 03, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I love that I can have repositories, merge requests, pipelines, runners and deployment workflows all in the same tool. Our team uses Gitlab as the place to look at what changed, what the state of a pipeline is and what is causing deployment to be stuck. It is also straightforward to view where development is versus how that relates to operations.
What do you dislike about the product?
It offers many configuration options to consider, so it can be a while before the setup of runners, permissions, branch rules, and pipelines is all figured out. It can also look cluttered when working on larger projects, with dozens of repositories and pipelines.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Git Lab combines our delivery pipeline into one product, rather than having one product for source control and another for CI/CD. We get a broader view of history of changes and deployments, minimize handoffs, and identify pipeline failures sooner, before they happen at a release.

Interfase Makes Project Management and Commit Tracking Simple
Reviewed on Aug 24, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Interfase is pretty solid. Managing projects feels really simple, and tracking commits and their history is just as straightforward.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the more advanced settings for enabling PAT (or something similar) can feel a bit complex, but the documentation clearly explains what to do and helps bridge that gap.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing projects, tracking history, and have control all over the information we sahre.

Reliable CI/CD and Code Collaboration in One Platform
Reviewed on Aug 14, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
GitLab is most helpful because it brings source code, issue tracking, merge requests, and CI/CD into one place. I like that the workflow is fairly organized, so it’s easy to track changes and see what needs attention without switching between several tools. The integrations are useful when connecting GitLab with other development tools, and the CI/CD features are a strong advantage for automating builds and deployments. The interface is generally clear, although some advanced settings can take time to get familiar with. Overall, it offers good value for teams that actually use its broader DevSecOps capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main downside is that GitLab can feel a little overwhelming when you first start using it, especially with the number of settings and DevOps features available. Some parts of the UI could be more intuitive, and finding specific configuration options can take a bit of time. The platform is powerful, but smaller teams may not use enough of the features to fully justify the cost of higher-tier plans. The integrations are useful, although setting up some of them can require extra configuration. AI features are helpful in certain workflows, but I wouldn’t consider them the main reason to choose GitLab.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GitLab helps solve the problem of having development work spread across different tools. Keeping code, merge requests, issue tracking, and CI/CD in one platform makes it easier to follow work from development through deployment. It also reduces some manual steps through automation, which helps keep the workflow consistent. Performance has generally been reliable for day-to-day development, and the documentation and built-in guidance are useful when setting things up, although more complex workflows can still require some time to learn.

All-in-One Platform for Code Management and CI/CD
Reviewed on Aug 10, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
I like GitLab because it provides a single platform for source code management, collaboration, CI/CD, and project tracking. It makes it easy for teams to manage code, review changes, automate deployments, and work together efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface can feel a little complex for new users, especially when using advanced CI/CD and project management features. It can take some time to understand and configure everything properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
GitLab helps us manage source code, track changes, collaborate through merge requests, and automate CI/CD processes in one place. It reduces manual work, improves collaboration, and makes software delivery more consistent and efficient.

Shared project with versioning: a real plus for teamwork
Reviewed on Jul 24, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to have a shared project with versioning is really practical for computer projects carried out in groups.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, I find that we quickly become overloaded with information when managing requests, branches, etc. When we don't use it very intensively, we can quickly get lost and make mistakes that cost us a lot of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Have real-time sharing of multiple files for a project. Versioning allows you to always revert to a stable and functional version if necessary.

What do you like best about the product?
It's very easy to set up and use, making team collaboration efficient and beginner‑friendly. It integrates well with all my applications, has great support, and I really enjoy using it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing models could be more competitive. Only a limited number of users can obtain developer access.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It basically makes collaboration and teamwork efficient across various development roles, especially in software development.
As an AI developer, I find it makes a lot of sense to use it when working with several teammates on a single project because you don’t have to make changes simultaneously.
Thus, merging and forking are very easy. With the AI capabilities that GakeLab has developed, it also helps resolve issues much more quickly.

Powerful AI Code Review with Great VSCode Autocomplete and Customizable GitLab Integrations
Reviewed on Jun 17, 2026
Review provided by G2
What do you like best about the product?
The new AI features, especially the autocomplete for VSCode really blend well with other AI tools and really speed up the development. The UI is neat, I love the ability to check the reviewed file and the fact that it will uncheck when a change is pushed. We've built custom integration for Gitlab, the API and the documentation really make this platform a powerful, customizable tool to achieve all of our complex needs. For the price, it is hard to go elsewhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the UI is buggy and the data is not refreshed correctly, I have to manually refresh the page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps organize our monorepo, keep a clean history of the code, write code review and plug in QA envs and CI/CD
