Powerful Yet Easy—Instant Reporting and Self-Service Deployment with Tanium
What do you like best about the product?
Tanium is super easy to use, but also very powerful. We can pull detailed reports almost instantly, and the self service software deployment is a huge hit with our users and field service team. Customer support is always quick to help in the off chance we get stuck
What do you dislike about the product?
If I had a complaint, it's that Tanium has SO many tools and modules that it's hard to know them all. Luckily, our team have each learned our favorites and help each other out when needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tanium's reporting and deployment tools have allowed us to keep a tighter rein on our various software packages and helps us keep our user base using the same version, which has led to increased user satisfaction and fewer calls to the service desk.
Tanium Delivers Real-Time Endpoint Visibility and Scalable Remediation
What do you like best about the product?
Tanium addresses our challenges around endpoint visibility, patch compliance, and scalable remediation by letting us deploy software, patch vulnerabilities, and take targeted actions based on real-time sensor data, with minimal manual effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some areas where Tanium could improve are complexity and overall usability, since there can be a noticeable learning curve when building custom sensors, packages, and more advanced workflows. The initial setup and ongoing maintenance also tend to require significant planning and expertise. Continued refinement of the UI and documentation would help make the platform feel more approachable and easier to adopt, especially for newer users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
What I like most about Tanium is the real-time visibility and control it gives us across our endpoints, along with how powerful and flexible the Deploy and Patch modules are. The sensor-driven targeting for packages really stands out to me because it lets us automate actions safely and precisely, rather than relying on broad, one-size-fits-all deployments.
Powerful Multifunctional Tool with Excellent Support
What do you like best about the product?
I love the wide range of things that can be accomplished with a single tool in Tanium, and having access to real-time data is a huge plus. The customization options are fantastic; I can create our own dashboards and packages as needed. The help and support from our TAM and the Tanium support team are incredibly helpful, and I can always rely on getting answers quickly. Also, I find the console to be very aesthetically pleasing, which helps in organizing a lot of data.
What do you dislike about the product?
One feature that would be very beneficial for our team is the ability to interact with files once we browse to them in the file system, such as the ability to remove/delete these files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tanium to identify and remediate vulnerabilities efficiently, even on devices not on our network. It's versatile, giving me real-time data, customizable dashboards, and strong support, saving time and enhancing security across agencies.
Easy Querying and Great Visualizations for Understanding Data Allocation
What do you like best about the product?
Love the ease of querying to better understand the data allocation across the landscape of our network.
Creates great visualizations that allow to organize.
Creates great visualizations that allow to organize.
What do you dislike about the product?
Labeling has been a bit confusing from time to time although it has made us become better and more comfortable for organization modeling.
Organization of data is also complex
Organization of data is also complex
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is addressing visibility gaps, slow response times, tool sprawsl, and operational risk across endpoints.
In addition, helps with slow incident detection and response

User-Friendly, Reliable for Patch Management
What do you like best about the product?
I like Tanium for its ease of use. I appreciate that I can ask questions and get information in real time. Creating software distribution packages is fairly easy, and the tool has been very user-friendly for me. It's been a great product in helping us resolve vulnerabilities and distribute software that we had trouble managing before. Additionally, I can find out which machines have certain applications, and software updates are managed well. The real-time information access is really helpful, and overall, it's been a great product for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mainly, I guess, zero touch deployments. We're not really there with Tanium. We're kinda doing that with Intune. And, also with Jamf for the Mac side. That would be a nice, something nice that Tanium could develop.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tanium to manage PCs and Macs, mainly for software distribution and patch management. It helps find machines without BitLocker, resolve vulnerabilities, and distribute software effectively. Its ease of use and real-time information is valuable, managing software updates well, even with network changes.
Fast, Far-Reaching Endpoint Insights Right from the Console
What do you like best about the product?
The speed and reach of the product. I love that I can find more information on endpoints with just asking questions in the console. Patching can be a bit difficult to explain to the end user but when using Patch it make sense.
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing I dislike most about Tanium is that it was made to be the bad guy for issues in our environment. I also don't like being on prem and having to update tanium manually. It would be nice if On Prem had an option to allow modules to update on a schedule.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tanium is allowing us to Patch endpoints at break neck speeds but limitations of being in a medical environment causes backlash. 3rd party providers cause it to be difficult to get the agent on them because of FDA limitations.
Fast, Capable Platform with a Great Interface and Strong TAM Support
What do you like best about the product?
Interface, Quickness of reaching endpoints, Large set of capabilities, Weekly meeting with TAM, Product has it's pulse on real world issues, Package Gallery reduces packaging load
What do you dislike about the product?
Big software with a lot of users - changes to the software even when smart are very slow to come in production. Role based access user management is very complicated to understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ease of reaching multiple endpoints in different domain/environments with a few simple requirements (software/network ports). Patching large environment. Getting answer to generic questions with whatever can be scripted.
Incredibly Fast, Reliable, and Easy to Use—One of the Best Products I’ve Used
What do you like best about the product?
No infrastructure with an amazing peering system (linear chain). Very easy to use and incredibly fast and reliable. Seems too good to be true, but by far one of the best products I've used
What do you dislike about the product?
When an agent is not working, troubleshooting seems to be difficult. There isn't a whole lot of documentation to guide you, you kind of just have to figure it out by yourself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Patching and Provision are amazing. For remote users tanium is the best at getting content to the endpoint. Enforce is great for things that aren't joined to the domain, but still need policies enforced
Vast Network Visibility, Steep Learning Curve
What do you like best about the product?
I use Tanium to gain visibility and control over every device. I’m no longer blind to what happens across the network and infrastructure. I like how it works as a command center for all my infrastructure.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's overall great, but the learning curve can be steep. Also, if CPU usage could be optimized, that would be helpful. The initial setup wasn't very easy, though it was worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Tanium to gain visibility and control over every device, so I'm no longer blind to what happens across the network. It works as a command center for all my infrastructure.
Easy Patch Deployment Across Servers and Windows Laptops
What do you like best about the product?
I like how, relatively easily, we can deploy patches to our servers and Windows laptops.
What do you dislike about the product?
It very difficult to automate the patching. While it easier than doing evrything manually, it would be great if we could automate the patching so it's relatively zero touch.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tanium solves the problem of patching our Windows laptops and servers. It also helps us to deploy one off software and create a self service for our users.
