What do you like best about the product?

I like that I can look up endpoints and see what has been deployed and when and if successful or not without ever bothering a user or remoting in. I like that I can also deploy software or remove it without ever bothering my users.

What do you dislike about the product?

When a software is deployed and has not installed successfully it still shows as complete so it is not as accurate as id like it to be because sometimes I have to ask the user to search for the software to make sure they do have it installed because tanium only reports on the completion of the deployment

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

scheduling deployments and doing it during off hours that way I do not have to login during off hours to perform the deployment, we can also send scripts to take actions in tanium without remoting in to user machines

What do you like best about the product?

I love the insights provided by Tanium on endpoint devices, specifically how it categorically visualizes the details about risk, vulnerability, compliance, and endpoint automation. The initial setup was easy with the SaaS version; we only needed cloud infrastructure or the Tanium team helped us to host and share services. I genuinely recommend my friends to deploy this tool for great insight into endpoint control.

What do you dislike about the product?

Tanium should enhance the security detection and integration for user accessibility control. It also needs improvement in the endpoint monitoring feature for kernel and services monitoring.

Tanium solved my asset management for endpoint devices, providing insights into risk, vulnerability, compliance, and endpoint automation.

What do you like best about the product?

The real-time visibility across enterprise endpoints is Tanium's standout feature. Being able to query thousands of endpoints in seconds using natural language and get instantaneous, accurate telemetry drastically reduces mean time to respond. Its single-agent architecture keeps client systems lightweight while centralizing security hygiene and endpoint control effortlessly.

What do you dislike about the product?

The platform comes with a steep learning curve, especially for junior administrators. Writing and fine-tuning custom sensors, questions, and action packages requires specialized knowledge of Tanium’s proprietary query logic and underlying architecture. Initial onboarding and training take significant time before a team feels fully autonomous.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

We struggled with fragmented endpoint visibility and stale asset inventories across hybrid and remote workforces. Tanium provides real-time, ground-truth telemetry in seconds rather than days, eliminating blind spots across unmanaged or remote devices. This allows our security and operations teams to identify vulnerabilities, contain threats, and verify compliance almost instantly, substantially lowering our risk profile.

I like Tanium because it’s easy to use and provides strong visibility and control over our endpoints from a single place. It helps us quickly identify issues, keep an eye on devices, and manage endpoint security more efficiently overall.

Tanium can feel complex at times, particularly when you’re setting up or managing more advanced features. The interface could be more straightforward, and certain tasks take a while to learn and configure correctly.

Tanium helps us manage and secure our endpoints from a single place. It gives us clearer visibility across devices, helps us spot security issues quickly, and makes monitoring and troubleshooting much easier and more efficient.

I like Tanium for its focus on network efficiency and speed in real-time querying. The linear chain architecture impresses me when querying or pushing large patch files, and the feedback loop speed is impressive. Additionally, I appreciate how smoothly and quickly the initial setup of the Tanium agent goes across endpoints, thanks to its peer-to-peer architecture. Switching to Tanium allowed us to combine vulnerability scanning and patch remediation into a single continuous workflow, which is a big plus for us.

What do you dislike about the product?

The console UI can feel overwhelming because of how many modules are packed into it. Reporting and dashboard customization could also be smoother when you want to quickly export clean summaries for non-technical leadership.

I use Tanium for patch management, baseline compliance, and to detect unauthorized devices on our network. It consolidates vulnerability scanning and patch remediation into a seamless workflow, boosting security through its efficient, real-time querying and linear chain architecture.

I like using Tanium for real-time queries, which helps maintain security compliance and operational health across our organization. The ServiceNow integration is also valuable as it syncs live telemetry directly into ServiceNow, transforming static IT asset management into a dynamic, live command center. This feature really stands out for me.

I find Tanium very helpful for resolving a lot of production issues, especially in identifying vulnerabilities. It's very easy to set up, even for someone who is nontechnical. The steps are very clear, and you can install and set it up very quickly and easily.

One area that could be improved is the learning curve, particularly for users who are new to the platform. Some features and workflows take time to grasp, and more intuitive navigation along with clearer in-product guidance would make the overall experience easier for new users. Querying and managing large environments can also require a solid understanding of Tanium’s architecture and query language. Additionally, some advanced capabilities may need extra configuration and the right level of expertise to be used effectively. Overall, more streamlined workflows, stronger documentation, and a simpler onboarding process would make Tanium easier to adopt and use efficiently.

Tanium helps address several key challenges related to endpoint visibility, asset management, security, and operational troubleshooting. It delivers near real-time insight into endpoint configurations, installed software, hardware details, and overall security posture across large environments, making it easier to spot issues and take corrective action quickly. It also reduces the need for manual data collection and time-consuming investigation on individual systems. In my day-to-day work, this speeds up troubleshooting, improves incident response, and provides more reliable information when I’m analyzing infrastructure issues. Overall, Tanium reduces operational effort, improves visibility, and makes endpoint management more efficient.

What do you like best about the product?

The speed, hands down. You can run a query across thousands of devices and get results in seconds — not minutes or hours like our old tool. It makes incident response and audits so much easier. Also love that everything (patching, vulnerability scans, compliance) is in one place instead of juggling multiple tools.

What do you dislike about the product?

The learning curve, honestly. It's not very beginner-friendly and the UI feels outdated — takes a while to figure out where everything is. Setup was also a bit of a pain with all the network configurations. Definitely not something you can just pick up and use right away.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Mainly it's helping us get real-time visibility across all our endpoints. Before Tanium, it took forever to run reports and check if systems were patched or vulnerable. Now I can see everything in seconds. It's also made incident response way faster — if something looks off, I can dig into any device immediately without waiting around. Saves me a ton of time and stress during audits and security checks.
