Enterprise-Grade Simplicity with Powerful Features and Reliable Support
What do you like best about the product?
Commvault Cloud offers a strong balance between enterprise-grade capabilities and operational simplicity. The platform is easy to use for daily backup and recovery operations, while still providing deep configuration options when required. Implementation is straightforward, and onboarding workloads across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud environments is well structured. It integrates easily with a wide range of technologies and storage targets, reducing complexity in heterogeneous environments. With a broad set of features available in a single platform, it is used frequently for both routine protection and advanced recovery scenarios. Customer support is reliable and effective, especially when handling complex technical issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Commvault Cloud is very powerful, the breadth of features can introduce complexity. Advanced configurations and troubleshooting often require deeper product knowledge, which can increase the learning curve for new users. Some workflows still involve navigating multiple menus, and detailed tuning may take time in very large environments. Additionally, upgrades and compatibility checks require careful planning to avoid operational impact
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Commvault Cloud addresses the challenge of protecting and managing data across complex hybrid and multi-cloud environments using a single, centralized platform. It simplifies backup, recovery, and data mobility while reducing operational overhead. This results in improved reliability, faster recovery times, consistent policy enforcement, and better visibility across workloads, allowing teams to manage data protection more efficiently and with greater confidence.
Rock-Solid Backup with Advanced Security
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Commvault Cloud offers backup data copy encryption and a compliance lock with the WORM option, making it extremely secure. It's great because no one can decrypt the backup copy or alter it. Additionally, I find the inbuilt ransomware protection feature really valuable, as it enhances the security of our data.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it inconvenient that to access Commvault Cloud, we need to go through the Commvault Java console or Command Center. We can't access it directly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Commvault Cloud to store server backup copies in an isolated environment, providing a partial disaster recovery solution if our on-premise system fails. It offers encryption, compliance lock with WORM, and built-in ransomware protection for secure backups.
Worst support I have ever had in my whole long career
What do you like best about the product?
varied product compatibiilty and support most of our infrastructure.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have had this product for several months and I can’t get it to work and every case I have created gets an automated message every week saying they are working on it but I have never had an actual response.
Then I get frustrated and close the case and create a new different one, and the automatted feedback message gives a link to give 5 stars on everything and submits it with no input.
The absolute worst and then they pad the numbers with the false 5 star reviews.
We very much regret this purchase

Commvault Made Backup Management Simple
What do you like best about the product?
Commvault Cloud has definitely been a most valuable tool during my internship. Its dashboard is straightforward to navigate, and the compatibility between Commvault and AWS and Azure was done me most smoothly and efficiently, I also loved it. My main activity in it was to create the backup jobs that were set to be executed automatically for the virtual machines and the databases, which in turn freed us up for some other activities. The restore process was speedy and reliable, which I found really comforting when we had to do disaster recovery scenarios. Commvault served as a bridge that interconnected the on-prem and cloud environments, and thus it could be sure that backups are consistent without changing the manual part of the process a lot. At the same time, it made our team feel more confident about data safety. Additionally, the deduplication feature helped us save a good amount of storage space.
What do you dislike about the product?
The initial setup might be a little too much for new users to handle. A few high-level settings were not very clear, and one had to look into the documentation to get the information, which could have been more nicely arranged. Besides, the cost arrangement for several cloud storage choices was not very clear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Commvault Cloud has been a great partner in addressing the challenge of handling backups in our data centers as well as in the cloud. Without having to resort to manual scripts or a myriad of tools, we were able to automate and centralize our backup and recovery operations. This not only saved us time and lowered human error but also increased our confidence regarding data loss or system failures. Moreover, it contributed to the better utilization of storage through features such as deduplication.

The is the only disliking thing as this won't be accessible to the small companies.

What do you like best about the product?

It also provides detailed reporting and analytics, which help in proactively managing risks and optimizing storage.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Commvault Cloud is a powerful platform, the initial setup and configuration can be quite complex, especially for new users or smaller teams without prior experience. The user interface, though improved over time, still feels a bit overwhelming due to the number of features and settings available. Also, some error messages could be more descriptive to help in quicker troubleshooting. Licensing and pricing models can be a bit confusing at first as well.
