What do you like best about the product?

I like that Toptal is flexible and provides some level of security for freelancers, especially in the software development world. It's very easy to set up; I just signed up, and there was an interview process. I also like how it integrates with Slack and email, making communication straightforward.

Well, there is, like, this, twenty day waiting period for the funds to become available.

I use Toptal to connect with software development customers globally. It's flexible and provides security for freelancers in the software development world.

What do you like best about the product?

I use Toptal as my main platform to search for and find jobs as a contractor for big and middle-sized companies around the world. I appreciate the whole experience with Toptal. From the start of the project until its completion, Toptal supports you through each stage, making sure you are not left alone. They help find great level projects for contractors to work with very important worldwide companies. I value that Toptal really cares about assigning the right professionals to each engagement and helps us deliver the best quality of work. Once you are in the network, the setup is clear and easy.

What do you dislike about the product?

I would say that one of the not so positive experiences has to do with the lack of feedback from Toptal's matchers and coordinators. In general, I have to chase them to know how my application is doing or when the project starts, or in case of delays, what is happening and when the engagement will finally start, or asking for the customer's feedback about my job. As a suggestion, it would be important to me that Toptal would be a little more transparent about the final hourly fee charged to the client for my role on an engagement. I consider that this information would help me to be more precise when proposing my hourly fee for future projects.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Toptal handles logistics like finding suitable projects and coordinating the contract process, ensuring I work with top companies. They support me through the project stages, providing assistance when needed.

Its has free hand over the work, and get a chance to work with the international clients and get paid decently.

The working hours a bit challenging as i work from different timezone

I appreciate the flexible work timings and the ability to work from home with Toptal. The platform offers high-quality job opportunities that pay according to market standards, allowing me to choose work that interests me. I particularly like the opportunities and work flexibility Toptal provides, which helps me work at times that suit me so I can focus on personal things too. I also found the initial setup smooth, aside from the challenging interview process, which is necessary to maintain the standards.

Sometimes I feel the absence of human interaction, although I personally find other ways to overcome this.

The most obvious best trait regarding Toptal would be their model of searching the right job for your based on your experience and profile. Their diligent matching team does an excellent job of locating the appropriate job of you. Secondly, since you have already cleared their own technical tests, the other companies don't tend you put you through another round of odious technical tests. Toptal's name is enough to indicate your comptency.

What do you dislike about the product?

If I have to find something, it would be that the first payment could have been made sooner. You will have to wait an extra two weeks or more before getting paid in comparison to other places.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

There is definitely a dearth of competent professionals, especially in the software development arena, out there and on many occasions, companies may not have the budget or time to get someone on-board on permanent basis. Toptal proves to be an excellent resource to get exemplary, professional work on short-term basis. For the contractor, it's an excellent way to generate quick income without long-term commitment. After my last company filed for bankruptcy, I started looking for a permanent job and it has been a hard market to crack. However, with Toptal, I was able to get back on my feet quick and while I keep on looking for a job, Toptal allows me to keep a roof over my heard.

I love the opportunity Toptal provides, allowing me to work with a client on a daily basis since 2019, which was a great job from the start. The screening team did a great job with onboarding me. Toptal team is doing a great job overall.

What do you dislike about the product?

I had a situation once where the client was late with payment, which caused my job to stop suddenly for nearly a month. It happened without any warning and was very stressful. I think it would improve the situation if there was more communication about things happening in the background.

Toptal connects me with unique job opportunities I couldn't find elsewhere, allowing me to work consistently with the same client since 2019.

I also enjoy being able to upskill myself with courses using Udemy via Toptal's paid account. I feel secure in the Toptal talent pool, knowing I won't face scams like on other platforms. I've been very happy with the quality of clients I work with and how Toptal supports talent in case of any conflict with the client. The initial setup was very easy.

Additional information from the matcher prior to the interview would be valuable. Many clients expected me to have comprehensive knowledge of the project, while in most cases I only had access to the basic details provided in the brief.
