Ubuntu 14 is user-friendly OS, we use it to replicate attacks and learn for it.
What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu 14 is a debian based linux distro. It can be used to for learning linux and bash scripting. And Ubuntu 14 is present on the cloud marketplace. For quickly creating an server instances that makes it as the best software OS to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
My dislike about the Ubuntu 14.04 LTS is that it has many vulnerability as of today. And most of the vulnerability exploits are publically available to everyone. That's the only thing lacking in Ubuntu 14.04, those vulnerabilities are fixed in the latest versions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One buisness problem that Ubuntu 14.04 LTS solved is that it lets us customize our environment. My favourite part in customizing is terminal, thats my favourite part as a cybersecurity researcher. It's easy to use only if you know Linux environment and CLI.

What do you like best about the product?
If you want a solution for your legacy applications this is your best choice. It's a very stable LTS for old version or appliances. You can deploy with security and safety and direct and forums support your solutions
What do you dislike about the product?
This distribution don't have recent features, don't run recent technologies and so on. Must have a good hardening and auditing for estability and security but You can trust in the performance

Official support ended by parent company in 2019 now no security upgrades & patches are getting deployed

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using ubuntu 14.04 machines to host our custom solutions that would ingest data to postgres DB in AWS.Since this is quiet mature OS and it was very easy to migrate from legacy OS to Ubuntu 14 OS that supported with compatiblity with other softwares as well.

14.04 LTS version
What do you like best about the product?
It supports our old X550 Devices and another l300 device very nicely and is easy to use for users and also supports the old device noncompeting x550 and another device like as l300 device's and its LTS Version has not any bug and it is good to use the of our educational organizations.
What do you dislike about the product?
when it shows the intrafirm error then we need to reinstall the ubuntu again, kindly suggest if you have the solutions for intrafirm error.

only intrafirm error I don't know why it occurs. kindly tell me why I face this problem in ubuntu 14.04LTS
Ubuntu 14.04 LTS not recommended to use in production
What do you like best about the product?
It's lighter and faster than other OS like windows, centOS, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
It no longer support the newer versions of some softwares. Also, it is a little difficult to upgrade ubuntu 14.04 LTS to newer versions of ubuntu.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently we use Ubuntu 14 in one of our server and it is working fine till now. There was not any big issue comes up till now.

What do you like best about the product?
Ubuntu 14 enables compact unity launcher icons which is convenient in application visibility and space management. Slight improvements in its ambience is noticable when I workin in its application window. It supports automatic type ahead search which gives me more accessisibility to various user directory identification.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its platform is lackluster and not much attractively designed. If it enables more custom UX designs means we will be able to sophisticate our environment visualization in a more appealing manner.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ubuntu 14 enables the utilization of TRIM SSD in our amazon web service platform. This ensures that we are able to clean the blob which is no longer in use and can be cleaned within our subsystem. It has improved hardware detection, which solves issues related to volume attachment, and it has a specific repository for possessing our latest application build packages.

Paid operating systems Like MS-Windows licensing is very complex and their compliances torcher the customers. Increasing hardware upgrading costs is also a challenge for the schools with discounted fees. Ubuntu 14.4 is a good choice for schools and colleges.

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS GUI looks unmatured. It needs to be improved.

We got rid of microsoft's black mailing calls.
It fufilled our all requirements of operating system.
We migrated all servers and labs to Ubuntu 14.04LTS in 2015. Still (17.08.2021) using it on old hardware.
