What do you like best about the product?

The Pricing is good - supports Federal contractors since its FedRAMP moderate. Quick responsive support team and an easy portal access is quite helpful

What do you dislike about the product?

It needs its own app which adds up to a new variable for management. While the Cisco Duo app is secure and responsive, most users don't like having another app to manage

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

We use Cisco for 2FA authentication especially for compliance reasons like NIST 800-171 and CMMC Compliance. Mandating 2FA access for admins can be easily pushed through Duo.

What do you like best about the product?

The product is very easy to use and the menu is simple to navigate. Also troubleshooting is very easy, as issue such as account lockouts and stated at the top of the page

What do you dislike about the product?

A few times, we’ve had an outage where users were unable to log on, and there didn’t seem to be any clear reason for it. However, after a few hours, users were able to log back on.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

It’s making us more secure by ensuring our users have to use MFA when connecting to our VPN and Office 365. It also helps reduce the attack surface that potential hackers could take advantage of.

What do you like best about the product?

I like that Cisco Duo is easy to use. I installed the app and everything was functional. It does its job with fingerprint scans or mobile authentications, and it adds two-factor authentication and extra security for the money, student information, and institutional data I handle. I use it with everything at my institution and a few other apps, and it does what it’s supposed to do.

What do you dislike about the product?

I wish Cisco Duo were more seamless and didn’t ask me to authenticate so often. It can ask me to do the same thing over and over, even when I’m in the middle of getting ready for class. It’s also a pain when my phone is in another room and my watch keeps buzzing. I’ve had trouble switching it over when I change phones, too.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Cisco Duo to make sure I’m actually who I say I am and add extra security for money, student information, and institutional data. It works across my university systems and other apps, using fingerprint or mobile authentication.

What do you like best about the product?

Cisco Duo strengthens security without making the login process complicated for end users. The Multi-Factor Authentication feature is simple and convenient especially with Duo Push which allows users to approve login request directly from their mobile devices. Add extra layer of protection when employees access company applications such as Microsoft 365 or remote VPN connection. Performance is very reliable with fast authentication; Duo push notification arrives quickly. Very flexible on its authentication methods including push notification, passcodes, security keys and support passwordless options. Overall, Cisco Duo provides excellent balance of security, usability and administrative control.

What do you dislike about the product?

Beyond its Cisco Duo's control, it becomes inconvenient when users experience delayed push notifications because of limited internet connectivity or if requiring to re-enroll their mobile devices. While the dashboard provide full security controls, configuring advanced authentication policies and troubleshooting integration issues can require technical knowledge.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Cisco Duo helps reduce security risks, strengthen identity protection and support organization's Zero-Trust security strategy. Provides convenient sign-in experience for employees while helping IT team improve access control and reduce potential impact of compromised accounts.

What do you like best about the product?

It helps to verify the authenticity of the user who needs to access sensitive information on devices. Like with any device that allows access to private / personal information, this adds extra security.

What do you dislike about the product?

It can be cumbersome at times because the user has to have his/her phone handy all the time. Also, on my end, it has been known to trigger false alerts, sometimes in the middle of the night.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Beginning since Covid, it has allowed for me to access important portals that are used by my organization. It has also allowed me to bypass having to input a separate password each and every time.

What do you like best about the product?

I like that Cisco Duo is quick and accurate, and helps me keep my identity safe. It keeps me feeling safe and secure and helps keep my information from being stolen. I also found the setup very easy; it walked me through step by step.

Cisco Duo helps keep me secure and protects me from identity theft, which makes me feel comfortable.

What do you like best about the product?

I appreciate Cisco Authenticator's ease of use and reliable multi-factor authentication. I like how Cisco Authenticator keeps access secure without slowing me down.

What do you dislike about the product?

Sometimes I do not have my phone near and it seems upsetting when it repeats messages. But otherwise everything is very good. No bigger remarks for Cisco Authenticator.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Cisco Duo solves the challenge of securing access to company resources by adding a strong layer of multi-factor authentication. This benefits me by providing secure and convenient access while reducing the risk of unauthorized account access.

Cisco Duo is primarily used for MFA configuration and to protect applications with the MFA requirement.

I can provide a specific example of how I use Cisco Duo to protect an application. We protect applications such as Microsoft login or internal applications. Before logging into any applications that require strict measures for our company, we add Cisco Duo before the authentication from Microsoft or internal authentication. Whenever there is a login request for a particular site, users are asked to enter the Cisco Duo push prompt or provide the OTP received via SMS or phone call. Without that, it will not authenticate the user to log into particular sites.

Alongside MFA, we use Cisco Duo for device health. For certain applications, we use criteria for people in senior leadership, ensuring that if their machine meets certain criteria such as having a firewall enabled, encryption enabled, and connected to a legitimate network, then and only then can they log into a particular site.

Cisco Duo has positively impacted my organization. We were able to mitigate compromised sessions by using Cisco Duo. In certain scenarios, when users receive MFA requests from unfamiliar locations, they know that it is not them trying to log in with their account, which has been the best feature we have used.

This has helped my users multiple times. Although I do not have an exact number, there have been instances, such as two or three times a month, where we have successfully mitigated the scenario. This has happened not only with regular users but also with senior leadership, showing that in both scenarios, we have been able to strengthen the environment through Cisco Duo.

Cisco Duo offers several best features, including a really cool interface. Anyone can become familiar with Cisco Duo in a day or two. Furthermore, the reporting, logs, and management capabilities are exceptional with Cisco Duo, which stands out as its best feature.

What makes the interface and management features stand out for me is that if I want to filter out the Android devices connected for a particular version, such as filtering how many users were connected using Android 13, I can easily filter that, which is not available in what we are currently using. This is a great feature. Additionally, there are custom criteria we can use in Cisco Duo, such as filtering by iOS or anything else we need according to our requirements.

I do not see any major flaws with Cisco Duo. According to our standards, we are very satisfied with Cisco Duo.

There is nothing I wish was a bit better, as what we need is already present in Cisco Duo, and as I mentioned, we have been using Cisco Duo for six to seven years.

Regarding Cisco Duo's accuracy and reliability of output, especially in terms of authentication and security alerts, I find it very solid. Cisco Duo's accuracy and reliability of output is near perfect. You cannot go wrong with Cisco Duo's authentication policy and reporting. Everything can be easily trusted.

I have not used Cisco Duo's AI capabilities as of now.

My advice for others looking into using Cisco Duo is that if you are really looking for a third-party application that can protect your organization or users from compromised sessions, then Cisco Duo is the perfect choice because it has the features and the trust of Cisco, making it really helpful for any organization to trust it blindly.

I would rate Cisco Duo a nine out of ten on a scale of one to ten. The reason I chose nine out of ten is that I believe no product is a perfect ten, so nine is the best that can be given to someone or any product.

What do you like best about the product?

I do not always have the app, so I can verify by having a text sent to my phone or have the otp read out to me by phone call. So it's really flexible while keeping me secure.

What do you dislike about the product?

Honestly I've never faced any issues so I don't have any complaints about it. My philosophy is that if it works then it's good. I didn't think there was any point where I did not receive the ping or otp.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

I do believe in authentication as someone who works in Cybersecurity. Duo allows me to log into my Rutgers account worry free, knowing that I will have to authenticate each time.
