Infoblox DDI is capable of fulfilling customer requirements from a DNS security, DHCP, and IPAM perspective.

From a DNS perspective, Infoblox DDI is a good solution for DNS security and DNS resolution.

Infoblox DDI provides automation through API, which allows us to fetch details from Infoblox DDI, giving us many ways to accomplish automation.

For stability of Infoblox DDI, I would rate it eight out of ten. Infoblox DDI is a stable solution.

Infoblox DDI could be slightly improved in terms of scalability.

I am not able to comment on a more modernized or refreshed dashboard as I have not faced any issues so far. I am also not aware about the pricing part.

If I face any challenges deploying Infoblox DDI or any issues after deployment, I am able to receive support from Infoblox TAC, which is a positive aspect. There are no issues from Infoblox DDI.

On the maintenance side, we only need to manage the hardware expiry date. Infoblox DDI provides hardware devices on time and also sends reminders for expiry.

In terms of improvement, the commercial pricing could be reduced to attract more small customers. Currently, it is cost-effective mainly for larger enterprises.

I have been working with InfoBlox DDI for four years.

The solution is quite stable. Once implemented, there are no significant interruptions or issues with customer environments.

InfoBlox DDI is very scalable, offering both physical and virtual box solutions. This allows customers to implement it in a virtual environment if they choose not to use physical boxes, accommodating user bases from eight thousand to fifteen thousand or more.

InfoBlox DDI is a premium product and is relatively expensive compared to other solutions in the market. However, this expense is justified as it combines advanced technology and security in one package.

For prospective customers, I recommend considering the complete DDI solution rather than just DNS security. Moving from static IPs to dynamic IPs with DDI can prevent cybersecurity risks.

I work with Infoblox DDI for DNS management, which involves blocking malicious and suspicious URLs. This helps in protecting my organization's domain name system and involves deep investigation and policy enforcement to understand why certain URLs are being used.

Infoblox is a proactive DNS system that enhances organizational security by blocking and triggering alerts for malicious or suspicious URLs. It offers a deep level of investigation and policy enforcement to secure data and prevent breaches.

There are some bugs and glitches that need attention. I have experienced instances where a URL was triggered by Infoblox even though it was not accessed. Updating signatures in the backend could potentially resolve this issue.

I am using Infoblox primarily for DNS, ITAM solutions along with DHCP. We also have some servers deployed in the cloud using BlocksOne for DNS and cybersecurity.

The UI is quite user-friendly and the support is available 24/7. The support team is knowledgeable and helpful. These features make Infoblox DDI preferable because users can get any kind of support, and the UI is easily trainable. We have many engineers, and they can be easily trained to use the UI.

We could have a CLI access directly in the UI. It would be helpful if we can log in and click on the server, and have the CLI pop up directly instead of using third-party software, like PuTTY, to log in. An inbuilt CLI or command line option could be given in the GUI.

Infoblox DDI can be used as a DHCP server, DNS server agent, gateway, and access management tool.

Infoblox DDI is the best because it gives you AD authentication as well as group authentication. The solution's policies and features are good, and you can use it to configure a DNS server in one box. With the help of Infoblox DDI, you can use the control management portal and give access to one time passwords.

My environment didn't have user management, IDM access, IAM access, or identified access management. One of the benefits of implementing Infoblox DDI is that it supports both RADIUS and TACACS+. If some devices don't support RADIUS, you can use it with TACACS+ and vice versa. The solution handles these two features very well. The solution has good scalability and availability.

Every vendor or organization cannot purchase Infoblox DDI because of some license issues.

I rate the solution’s stability a nine out of ten.

I contacted the technical support team once because I could not enable some features. The team was very professional and helped me with my issue.

The initial setup of the solution is neither very easy nor very complex. It is easy for someone who has some idea about IAM systems. You need two to three engineers for the solution's deployment.

Infoblox DDI is a good solution for those who want IAM, RADIUS, and TACACS+ technologies in one box.

We have a vast environment where the whole city people connect to our portal for water-based technologies, water meters, garbage collections, etc. They get this from the one-time authentication created with Infoblox DDI. The solution is user-friendly and provides the best availability.

Infoblox DDI is a good tool if you want to centralize everything in your environment. Infoblox DDI can be a good product for you if you want to move from Windows to a Linux-based system. Earlier, when our company only had DNS servers, Linux wasn't supported very well. Linux supports and works very well with Infoblox. Nowadays, all operating systems require security since threats can come from Raspberry Pi, Chromebook, Android, or even Apple. All products need security and centralized security, and products by Infoblox can help with the centralized security part.

The three major features of Infoblox DDI are very good. Artificial intelligence is one of the areas in the solution where there are some shortcomings. When dealing with URLs, Infoblox needs a good team that takes care of the recategorizations. Zscaler is good since it can recategorize the website. Every day, millions of websites are newly launched, which may or may not be malicious. Malicious websites will get blocked if a company goes for recategorization. If the recategorization part is not taken care of properly, with millions of websites being launched every day, then the malicious websites will not get blocked. Zscaler has a good team to take care of the recategorization part within twenty-four hours, while Infoblox does not have such a team. Symantec and Palo Alto have good teams to take care of the recategorization part, while Infoblox does not have such types of teams. The aforementioned area can be considered for improvement in the solution. The recategorization part takes longer with Infoblox DDI compared to other companies like Symantec, Zscaler, and Palo Alto.

I have been using Infoblox DDI for more than seven years. My company is a user of the solution.

It is a stable solution.

It is a scalable solution. If you have five branches where you want to use Infoblox DDI, you can do so easily. Later on, if you have fifty branches where you want to use Infoblox DDI, you can do so easily by choosing to scale up the product since it is available to users with multiple options, like a virtual machine and hardware. You can deploy one hardware and multiple virtual machines in multiple regions, making it an easily scalable solution.

I recommend Infoblox DDI to those who plan to use it. As Infoblox DDI is a costly product, SMEs might not prefer to buy it, but MNCs with a presence in multiple locations or a global presence might choose it.

My company has contacted the technical support provided by Infoblox. Infoblox's technical support is costly since they charge us on an hourly basis for their services. If you want support from Infoblox's technical team, you must pay approximately 250 USD per hour. You cannot just purchase or make payments to avail of the support services from Infoblox. My company only contacts Infoblox's technical team when required. In general, my company gets very limited support from Infoblox. I believe that Infoblox has reduced the charges for support services from 250 USD per hour to 150 USD per hour.

Infoblox DDI was the first product we implemented in our company as a replacement for a DNS product.

For the initial setup of Infoblox DDI, there is a need to have a good Linux administrator to take care of the deployment phase.

The solution is deployed on an on-premises model and provides cloud integration through Infoblox CSP.

Infoblox DDI is an expensive product. Zscaler is also an expensive product.

If you had a DNS system as a distributed service across multiple sites, then you can't control the security part. In our company, we wanted a centralized system. For example, Google.com has servers hosted in every country, including the USA, Europe, and India. Indian users will get a DNS resolution for Google's server meant for India, while Europe will get a DNS resolution from the server meant for Europe. If you are not using Infoblox, you need to deploy multiple DNS servers in all three regions. If you have multiple DNS servers, you can't manage or patch them properly, owing to which our company decided to opt for Infoblox's ability to provide us with a centralized view of all the regions, including China and Japan. China doesn't allow for the operation of any USA-based websites. With Infoblox, you can easily route the user from China to a server meant for China only.

My company also has Infoblox BloxOne, which provides DNS-level security, so in case DNS doesn't resolve any malicious URL a user is browsing, then that user can't browse it. All the products from Infoblox are based on artificial intelligence, meaning it provides one more layer of security to its users. If Zscaler fails to recategorize some URLs as malicious, Infoblox DDI will do it automatically.

Infoblox DDI provides DNS-level security. If your DNS is not able to resolve and if you stop data at the DNS level, then you are utilizing bandwidth while all your resources are also utilizing the same bandwidth. When you try to browse any malicious websites or when multiple users in your office try to browse malicious websites, the data will go to the malicious website, after which the malicious website will fetch the data, while with DNS-level security, such activities can be blocked, because of which you are not sending the command to their data center, meaning you are not utilizing your bandwidth, making it free for other activities. You can utilize your bandwidth for multiple activities in your company.

Considering Infoblox DNS, DHCP, and IPAM, I rate the overall product somewhere between eight and nine out of ten.

Infoblox has more technology patents than any of its competitors. It automatically has the functionalities, features, and detection level that nobody else can achieve, even competitors like Cisco Umbrella, EfficientIP, and many others. There is also a huge gap in the threat intelligence Infoblox provides. It offers more than double the IOCs their second-level competition offers. The solution is also easy to use.

They need to reconsider their pricing for their SMB customers. It is a hurdle for them to manage the price.
