Straightforward and intuitive Firewall management
What do you like best about the product?
Honestly the best thing has been the interaction between the engineering staff and my department. We have had Zoom meetings and helpful insight into the hardware we have purchased and the licensing demands.
What do you dislike about the product?
The beginning of the "customer support" inquiries was very hit and miss, it took awhile to develop a contact that will reliably return emails and help us with our needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With FortiPortal we have established a prison education network for the State of Tennessee Department of Correction.

FortiPortal delivers: Ability to customize wireless and security management to individual end-user needs. Out-of-the-box integration with FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiGate, and FortiAP. Next-generation firewall capabilities: content filtering, application control, antivirus, IPS. Private hosting for better control and profitability.
FortiPortal: not my first option
What do you like best about the product?
Updates are regular, very robust, and powerful, with comprehensive scanning of the servers. Overall, it's a good firewall protection system that will keep you and your data safe.
What do you dislike about the product?
FortiPortal is kind of complicated to use and set up. Also, it cannot be installed on standalone computers and can be only used with servers. Heavy on the machines and is a kind of memory hog.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In this day and age, with everything being digital and online, a comprehensive firewall is needed to keep me and my data safe. FortiClient, FortiPortal's small brother, takes care of my laptop.

One of the most liked features is the reporting and analytics capability of traffic, web usage, attacks, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
You need to be a professional to fully understand and make use of all its features, but worth the investment with proper training.

Overall better security and connectivity, all from one dashboard.

What do you like best about the product?
In terms of health and updates, it performs a little bit better than some of the other goods. It is very obvious that a firewall is receiving the updated signatures during this time. You typically need to navigate through a few screens in some of the other products to see that, but not as much in this one.
What do you dislike about the product?
"Their logging is a bit more challenging for me to handle. There are numerous categories used to group events for logging. I prefer to gather all the occurrences in one location before filtering them rather than dividing my logs into numerous distinct locations. Due to those functional breakups in the logs, I specifically find that troubleshooting on Fortinet takes a little bit longer."
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's excellent that it tries to give you access to a single console for monitoring your firewalls' activity and DDoS attacks across all of your environments.
Typically, a cloud-based solution is used. You might be able to access it from home to check on the status of items or receive notifications, such as when your email system goes down. This depends on how it is built.

What do you like best about the product?
This tool is amazing for managing all forti products via a single interface. It's helpful in IT security a lot and makes IT operations easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes we would like to see the document for the usage of some of the features but it's difficult to find the details.

Easy UI for any level user also it can be used for small to very large organizations.

Initial setup and identify the issues. Support from the direct OEM is not expected.

The Best Tool To Secure Enterprise Cloud Resources
What do you like best about the product?
FortiPortal is one of the fantastic products from Fortinet designed to secure cloud resources via a centralized security management dashboard and provide analytics for timely detection and response to security incidents. It also supported us in our compliance processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much for dislike, and pricing may only be high-end for some mid-range organizations. However, Fortinet products are flexible in pricing compared to other enterprise-grade competitors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We looked forward to a cloud-based security management portal to fix our cloud security issues. FortiPortal meets our requirements; the analytics engine supports our incident management processes. Thanks, Fortinet.
Good webgui and useful for network management

Ease of access and layout.

Occassionally logs you out and if you are accessing network equipment asks if you want to make changes at login.

What do you like best about the product?
Multisite visibility and control, automated alerts and user analytics. Network are very easy and intuitive. Security is also good. Offers better features of public cloud and efficiency.

Proper maintenance is required by experts.
