6point6 leverages the Authority to Operate (ATO) on AWS Program as an avenue to engage AWS customers in meeting their security and compliance needs. The program gives 6point6 increased visibility and go-to-market support to help joint customers expand their businesses to new markets and sectors, while ensuring that they comply with their regulatory and security requirements. 6point6 seeks to help AWS customers provide value to their end-users by quickly overcoming compliance issues, so that they can more readily realize the benefits of the service.
is an award-winning technology consultancy. Leading with strategy, design, and architecture, it connects cloud, data, and cyber to engineer and deliver large-scale, complex transformations across public and private sectors.
Martin Jordan, Client Director at 6point6, says, “We resolve complex business challenges for clients by designing and implementing cloud-native solutions, leveraging the latest Amazon Web Services (AWS) products and services to gain the most value from IT.”
6point6 works closely with AWS and joined the
AWS Partner Network
(APN) in 2015. In recent years, the company has witnessed growing interest from organizations looking to expand from other parts of the world into Europe. To help those companies implement European compliance requirements like the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which can be extremely difficult to navigate, 6point6 applied to join the
Authority to Operate (ATO)
on AWS Program. ATO on AWS enables customers to meet their regulatory and security requirements, including those related to the healthcare, privacy, national security, and financial sectors. In 2021, 6point6 became the first European-based ATO on AWS Partner.
“Most organizations aren't in the business of compliance,” Sam Rea, Head of Compliance Accelerator at 6point6 says. “They want to deliver something that has meaningful value to the end user. We seek to ease the compliance journey and help our customers quickly realize the benefits of using AWS to deliver business value.”
“Being part of the AWS ATO partnership means that 6point6 has access to deep expertise within AWS and with other ATO partners across the world,” Rea goes on to add. “This means that we can work closely with other ATO partners to help multinational customers achieve compliance across jurisdictions. Building that global community, sharing that knowledge, having that trusted group of partners that can work together to support any organization anywhere across the globe—that’s our ambition.”
Joining ATO on AWS has helped 6point6 win new work by connecting it with clients looking to move into the European market and helping those clients address security and compliance needs. “Working with AWS allows us to provide end-to-end services,” says Dean Di Pasquale, Head of Cyber Audit at 6point6. “When companies come through the AWS Partner Network looking to expand into Europe, 6point6 can put a program together for them and deliver it. Customers love that kind of complete solution.”
AWS provides support, responsiveness, and openness to feedback, which have been key to building a successful partnership. Di Pasquale adds, “AWS provisions solutions architects and account partners who help us develop our AWS offerings and make sure we're getting people through certifications. That support is so important to helping us remain a bleeding-edge compliance and security consultancy.”
AWS and 6point6 recently proved the value of their partnership when they worked together to deliver one of the UK government’s largest cloud transformation projects to date. The Home Office’s Immigration Technology team, which is responsible for delivering the digital future of immigration, lacked the scalability and stability it needed to support its ambitious agenda to transform UK immigration and visa services. 6point6 played a key role in enabling and executing the team’s move to AWS. AWS and 6point6 then worked together to redesign and simplify the Immigration Technology team’s cloud environment, which enhanced reliability, optimized costs, and improved security.
Jordan says 6point6 looks forward to continuing its partnership with AWS and working together to help joint customers accomplish more.
