Sweetgreen Grows Business Insights With Data Lake Built on AWS

2020

California-based restaurant chain Sweetgreen serves up freshly-made salads and other sustainably-grown foods. The company acquires data from more 30 data sources across its ecosystem, including farms, wholesale distributors, point-of-sales (POS) systems, chatbots, and Sweetgreen's mobile and web applications. Sweetgreen stores hundreds of terabytes of that data in its data lake, built on Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) using Amazon S3 Standard and Amazon S3 Standard-Infrequent Access (S3 Standard-IA) storage classes.
