    VM-Series, when combined with native AWS services, enable you to create "touchless" deployments and allow your developers to operate at the speed of the cloud. VM-Series protects your applications and data using whitelisting and segmentation policies that are dynamically updated based on AWS tags, allowing you to reduce the attack surface area and achieve compliance. Additionally, threat prevention policies can stop both known and unknown attacks.

    For BYOL listing, VM-Series license is not included. Please contact your Palo Alto Networks sales representative or channel partner.

    Pricing and entitlements for this product are managed outside of AWS Marketplace through an external billing relationship between you and the vendor. You activate the product by supplying an existing license purchased outside of AWS Marketplace, while AWS provides the infrastructure required to launch the product. Subscriptions have no end date and may be cancelled any time. However, the cancellation won't affect the status of an active license if it was purchased outside of AWS Marketplace.

Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

    See documentation for detailed steps to set admin password before using the web interface of VM-Series. Once the instance is running, connect to it using a SSH client with the private key file used to launch the instance. For example: ssh -i <privatekey.pem> admin@<EIP or private IP of eth0> Then use the PAN-OS CLI commands "configure", "set mgt-config users admin password" and "commit" commands to set the password.

    What do you like best about the product?
    It provides great scalability with different cloud providers. Also, it has stand out features like malware detection.
    What do you dislike about the product?
    From my point of view the costing of firewall is little high than other firewalls. Sometimes also it consumes hight cpu and memory usage that leads to increase in cost.
    What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
    For the containerizaed workloads it provides greater security. Also it simplifies audits and compliance risks.

    What do you like best about the product?
    Best feature about this is Advanced threat protection it provides. I personally like this feature. Furthermore, it provides great collaboration with different cloud providers like Azure, AWS and more.
    What do you dislike about the product?
    From Infrastructure as Code (IaC) point of view, its not the best. Because it has some issues with it. From my POV, the cost is also bit more from the market's tools.
    What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
    The security it provides is immensely awesome. Whether you are using cloud technologies or not, it is the best. It helps also in automating the deployments via Hashicorp's Terraform.

    What do you like best about the product?
    It provides deep security in general and great threat protection. Also it has seamless integration with various clouds in the market and also its easily scalable- that is really great feature.
    What do you dislike about the product?
    There could be seen performance issue while working with it. Moreover deployment complexity is there, as it really requires expertise in this area.
    What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
    It really prevents attacks, so its stand out feature. It works really well with AWS, and other cloud providers like Azure, GCP etc. But personally with AWS it works as expected.

    What do you like best about the product?
    The integration with various cloud providers is really amazing. I use AWS, it helps me integrate with it. But it’s not limited to AWS- we can work and integrate with Azure, GCP etc.
    What do you dislike about the product?
    The complexity while setting up the VM series virtual firewall is bit tricky and time consuming. Also with Infrastructure as Code tools it’s not really great.
    What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
    I use Terraform in my daily work, so it really helps me in automating my deployments with secured way. Moreover the security is stand out point I’ll say when we compare with other tools.
