    There are two ways that you can configure a system to run SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. The first is to boot an instance running SUSE Linux in Amazon EC2. Once your image is running, you can use all of the standard SUSE tools including YaST and zypper to add packages and configure the system.

    Flexibility and Reliability in Enterprise Servers

    What do you like best about the product?
    I like the reliability that SUSE Linux Enterprise Server provides us, as we commonly do not have problems due to the operating system itself. I also appreciate the patching facilities it offers with SUSE Manager and live patching, which allow us to have no interruptions in our systems. Additionally, the initial setup was very easy for our banking entity, which made the installation process easier by reducing the list of necessary minimum configurations and libraries.
    What do you dislike about the product?
    The monitoring of memory in use and the paging of applications.
    What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
    By using SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for everything, it gives us a great advantage in how to configure and prepare it for any specific load and customization. It provides patching facilities with SUSE Manager and livepatching, avoiding interruptions in our systems.

    What do you like best about the product?
    SUSE Linux Enterprise Server is our leading operating system for Linux systems. I appreciate the extensive core for our system landscape and the long support periods of the OS versions. The simplicity of the system is a great advantage, and we can adapt it very well to our needs. The patch management works great. We have also had good experiences with SUSE's support, which made the initial setup very easy for us.
    What do you dislike about the product?
    The package and repository handling is, for example, very complex. The community is not as large as with similar products.
    What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
    SUSE Linux Enterprise Server offers a comprehensive core for our system landscape. It has long support times and good management with the Suse Multi Linux Manager. The simplicity and adaptability to our needs, as well as the excellent patch management, are also significant advantages.

    At the moment, I don’t dislike anything about SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. The system meets my expectations, and I’m currently not missing any features or functionalities.

    SUSE Linux Enterprise Server helps solve several operational and infrastructure challenges by providing a stable, secure, and well‑supported enterprise platform. Its long lifecycle, automated patching, and built‑in hardening tools reduce administrative overhead and ensure consistent system security. Additionally, the strong integration with cloud environments and SAP workloads helps streamline deployments and improves reliability. Overall, it enables me to maintain a more resilient, compliant, and efficient IT environment with minimal disruptions.

    stable installation with easy management

    What do you like best about the product?
    I appreciate the stability of the installation and the robustness of the regular patches in SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. The simple patching and the possibility of completely automatic installation help us to perform the installation and operation easily and efficiently. I find the integrated snapshot mechanism particularly helpful, which allows us to revert the operating system to the previous state within minutes if stability issues occur after a patch. The initial setup is also very easy to perform thanks to the simple manual installation and our experience with the Autoyast installation.
    What do you dislike about the product?
    Currently, there is nothing that I don't like.
    What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
    I use SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for easy patch management and automatic installations, which makes operations efficient. The snapshot mechanism helps with quick recovery after patching issues.

    What do you like best about the product?
    The updates are reliable and do not break existing workloads. Easy to deploy and manage. Security updates are very timely. Gold customer support is very knowledgeable and quick to get back to you.
    What do you dislike about the product?
    Yast2 is powerful but when something goes wrong i'd like to be able to know what it's doing behind the scenes.
    What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
    Making updates available in a timely manner to keep our environment secure. Carefully reviewing updates so they do not impact the application layer.
