    Control Instance topology for CloudyCluster

The CloudyCluster Cloud Formation Template will configure the security roles and policies. The Control instance will be launched and start a web UI that will be accessed using the key configured when launching the template. Upon launch DNS will be automatically configured in the *.cloudycluster.com namespace which you can use to reference the control node. For your initial connection you can reference the IP address that is shown at completion of the template and when DNS has propagated you will be redirected. Once active you can use the web UI to launch and configure clusters for HPC and Big Data applications.

    CloudFormation Template (CFT)

AWS CloudFormation templates are JSON or YAML-formatted text files that simplify provisioning and management on AWS. The templates describe the service or application architecture you want to deploy, and AWS CloudFormation uses those templates to provision and configure the required services (such as Amazon EC2 instances or Amazon RDS DB instances). The deployed application and associated resources are called a "stack."

    Version release notes

Version 3.3.1 of CloudyCluster adds several bug fixes and capabilities including Intel MPI development packages, several software updates including machine learning libraries, enhanced security for metadata access, and improvements to CCQ for additional scalability and stability. Open OnDemand is enabled automatically, providing a web interface to HPC resources.

    Additional details

    Usage instructions

Follow the instructions outlined in the Quickstart at http://docs.aws.cloudycluster.com/quickstart-deployment-guide/ . Launch the CloudyCluster AMI from the Marketplace using the Control Instance Topology. Once launched wait 5 minutes for self configuration. View the new instance IP address under the output tab in the cloud formation console. Point a modern web browser to that IP and wait for an option to upload the SSH key used to launch the instance. This product creates administrative IAM roles to enable creation of additional IAM roles to follow least privilege principles for each instance in the cluster so that it is able to orchestrate your HPC environment. We recommend utilizing separate AWS accounts for different groups of users to ensure separation.
