What resources do I get with each EC2 instance size for the Policy Server?

Am I charged when the Policy Server instance is stopped or powered off?
The software carries no charge, so no software fee accrues at any time. Hourly charges from AWS apply only while the instance runs. A stopped instance stops accruing compute charges, though AWS storage fees for the attached volume may continue. Powering off ends the running-time meter.
What does the Policy Server itself do within the deployment?
The Policy Server sets security policies from data collected by Network Sensors and Agents. It distributes those policies to sensors and agents and manages access control. It also connects to your user database and other security tools. The instance size you pick affects how much of this workload it can process.
