The software itself is free to use. Your only charges come from the AWS EC2 instances you choose to run it on, billed by the hour. Each dimension names a specific instance type across the M3, M4, M5, M5a, M5ad, M5d, M5dn, M5n, T2, T3, and T3a families. These range from small, general-purpose sizes to metal and 24xlarge configurations with more compute and memory. You pick the instance that fits your workload. Larger or more capable instances carry higher hourly rates, so cost scales with the hardware you select.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You pay only the hourly rate for the AWS EC2 instance type you select. The Control Center software itself carries no license charge. Your bill reflects the compute and memory of the chosen instance family, from small general-purpose sizes up to metal and 24xlarge configurations.
Hourly charges accrue only while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance does not accrue software or compute charges. Note that stopped instances may still incur separate AWS storage fees for attached volumes. The hourly rate meters running time on your selected instance type.
The rate is tied to the instance type you pick. Each dimension maps to one EC2 instance across the M3, M4, M5, M5a, M5ad, M5d, M5dn, M5n, T2, T3, and T3a families. Instances with more compute and memory carry higher hourly rates.
