HAProxy Technologies offers widely used software load balancer to deliver websites and applications with the utmost performance, observability, and security at any scale and in any environment.
Kubernetes is an open-source platform for scaling containerized workloads across a fleet of machines. It can intelligently schedule work only onto hosts that have the CPU and memory resources needed to run a given container. The challenge is that containers within a Kubernetes cluster typically communicate over a private overlay network. How should you expose services within the cluster to external clients? The answer is to bring the power of HAProxy to Kubernetes. The HAProxy Ingress Controller is the most efficient way to route traffic into a Kubernetes cluster.
Highlights
Simplify your infrastructure by routing ingress traffic using one IP address and port. Requests are routed to the correct pod based on the Host header and request path
Balance traffic among pods using any of HAProxy's load-balancing algorithms including round-robin, least connections, URL hash and random.
Secure your cluster with built-in SSL termination, rate limiting, and IP whitelisting
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This listing uses a single pricing dimension billed per instance of the HAProxy Enterprise Ingress Controller. You pay for each instance you run under a contract commitment. Pricing scales directly with the number of instances you deploy, so adding more instances increases your total cost proportionally. There are no separate tiers or usage add-ons to choose from. Each instance routes external traffic into Kubernetes clusters and includes the same set of routing, load balancing, and security capabilities, so you select quantity based on how many instances your deployment needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one instance for billing purposes?
An instance is a single running deployment of the HAProxy Enterprise Ingress Controller inside your Kubernetes cluster. It acts as a proxy that routes external traffic to your services. Each running controller you deploy counts as one billable instance, no matter how many requests it handles.
Am I charged more if a single instance handles higher traffic volumes?
No. Billing is based on the count of running instances, not on traffic. One instance can handle tens of thousands of requests per second at the same price. Your cost changes only when you add or remove instances, not when request rates rise or fall.
What capabilities are included with each instance at no extra charge?
Each instance includes routing and load balancing for HTTP(S), TCP, and gRPC traffic, plus an embedded web application firewall. You also get SSL/TLS termination, global rate limiting, and a rootless container design. These features come with the instance without a separate subscription.

What do you like best about the product?
An easy upgrade, professional support, and a stable system. I feel we are getting very good value for the investment in ALOHA HAProxy. The product is lightweight, easy to use, and straightforward to manage, while still providing the capabilities we need. One of the key advantages for us is the ability to commit configuration changes instantly, which makes configuration updates and operational changes much more efficient.
The support has also been excellent. The support team is professional, responsive, and knowledgeable, and they have been able to guide us effectively when updating the configuration to meet our specific requirements. Overall, the combination of product simplicity, operational efficiency, and strong technical support makes the pricing well justified for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
It only keeps limited logs, so if I don’t have syslog servers, I won’t have the logs available for investigation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to configure, and any changes can be committed within seconds. It’s also super lightweight.
