You pay based on usage, with no upfront commitment. Three separate meters track your activity. The first charges per gigabyte of data you process. The second charges per gigabyte of data you export. The third charges per gigabyte of data stored in Amazon S3 each day. These dimensions are independent, so your total reflects how much you process, export, and store. Processing and export are one-time charges tied to each action, while storage accrues daily for as long as your data stays in S3.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each meter counts gigabytes of data handled by that specific action. The processing meter counts data ingested and analyzed. The export meter counts data you extract from the platform. The storage meter counts data held in Amazon S3, measured per day for as long as it remains stored.
The storage meter accrues per gigabyte per day while data stays in Amazon S3. Once you remove data, that daily storage charge stops for the removed volume. Processing and export charges are tied to each action and are not affected by later deletion.
All three meters bill independently and appear on the same invoice. Processing and export charge once per action on the volume handled. Storage accrues daily, so it can grow over time if you retain large volumes. Long retention raises storage cost, while heavy ingestion raises processing cost.

I backed up the files I want to keep and have for the future through this service into AWC. The initial set up is a little complicated so you have to pay attention to instructions. I found out that you can't select encryption for your AWS or for the Cloudberry account they give you with their SST account. I contacted them and found out they provide encryption once the files are processed and stored and if you encrypt before them, they can't process and index the files. Once I set up the Cloudberry account to create a link from my computer to the SST site in AWS, uploading files was easy. SST organizes them and arranges them so I can find the needle I want in the haystack of all my files. It gives me good visuals of what I'm doing. It is fast. Perfect file management system for everyday use on my own "big data" set.
