CoreSpatial is a complete set of open source software packages, with enterprise grade security and high performance, production-ready configurations for Enterprise Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Oracle Linux) and container based deployments (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).
CoreSpatial Server is the main component, consisting of GeoServer with PostGIS and GDAL. CoreSpatial® Basemaps adds pre-loaded map layers for use in your applications.

Each family scales from smaller sizes (xlarge, 2xlarge) up to larger ones (16xlarge, 24xlarge, 32xlarge, 48xlarge), plus a metal option. Your hourly rate rises as you choose a larger instance size. You match the instance to your workload's compute and memory needs. There is no upfront commitment; you pay only for the hours your chosen instance runs.

What does one hourly unit cover, and what runs on the instance I choose?
Each unit is one hour that your chosen EC2 instance runs. The instance hosts CoreSpatial Basemaps, providing worldwide OpenStreetMap coverage ready for high-resolution imagery. Larger instance sizes give more CPU and memory. You pick the size that fits your compute and memory needs.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or powered off?
Software charges meter running hours only. A fully stopped or powered-off instance does not accrue hourly software fees. You may still pay underlying AWS storage costs for a stopped instance, but the CoreSpatial Basemaps hourly charge applies only while the instance runs.
How does my cost change if I switch to a larger instance size?
Your hourly rate follows the instance size you run. Moving from a smaller size to a larger one within a family raises the per-hour rate. Switching families, such as m5 to m7a, also changes the rate. You pay the rate tied to whichever instance is running.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Connecting To Instance
To connect to your instance, you will need to use SSH over port 22. The default username for connecting is ec2-user. Accessing Documentation and Support
All documentation can be found on the ec2-user's home directory under the relevant SKU's subdirectory. This includes installation, administration, configuration, and cybesecurity related artifacts (SBOM, vulnerability report).
All CoreSpatial customers have direct access to our expert team for technical support, troubleshooting, and operational advice ensuring swift resolution of any issues.
Updated software packages will be released quarterly including all components of CoreSpatial® (GeoServer, Java, Jetty, PostgreSQL, PostGIS, GDAL, etc). This includes regular updates to the most recent stable version of the software provided by the respective open source project. High priority security patches identified in the NIST National Vulnerability Database (NVD) with a CVE score of High or Critical will be released immediately upon availability. In some cases this may include remediations implemented by NGS that limit functionality due to our prioritization of cybersecurity. In these cases, the CoreSpatial® release notes will include detailed explanations with suggested workarounds.
Data Updates
All data packages provided as part of CoreSpatial® Basemaps are updated on a quarterly basis and made available to the customer via cloud file sharing service.
