Run Koha on AWS and improve your public catalogue with Koha Theme Builder™: 5 theme families, 8 activated presets, 5 preview presets, Page Builder, Page Settings, and Design Studio. 30-day software trial included.
Run a full Koha ILS on AWS with a polished public catalogue and direct control over your cloud environment.
Koha Theme Builder™ helps you improve the public catalogue without maintaining custom Koha template changes. Standard includes 5 professionally designed theme families, 8 activated presets, and 5 preview-only presets.
Use Page Builder to update homepage content, Page Settings to manage page-level options, and Design Studio to adjust colours, typography, and spacing. These tools are available from the Koha staff interface, so library staff can make common visual changes without server access.

Try this product free for 30 days according to the free trial terms set by the vendor. Usage-based pricing is in effect for usage beyond the free trial terms. Your free trial gets automatically converted to a paid subscription when the trial ends, but may be canceled any time before that.
Pricing is based on actual usage, with charges varying according to how much you consume. Subscriptions have no end date and may be canceled any time. Alternatively, you can pay upfront for a contract, which typically covers your anticipated usage for the contract duration. Any usage beyond contract will incur additional usage-based costs.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
You pay by the hour for the Standard Tier software, billed through AWS Marketplace based on the ARM64 EC2 instance you run. Each dimension maps to a specific instance type and size, so pricing scales with the compute capacity you choose. Smaller sizes like t4g.nano suit light use, while larger sizes such as x8g.metal-48xl handle heavier demand. You pick one instance type per running deployment. AWS infrastructure charges for servers, storage, and networking are billed separately by AWS and are not part of this software rate.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hour of the Standard Tier software rate actually cover?
The hourly rate is the KohaSupport software licence, charged per running ARM64 EC2 instance. It gives you the full Koha library system with unlimited records, automated backups, custom domain support, and logging. The server, storage, and networking that run the instance are billed separately by AWS.
Am I charged the software rate when my instance is stopped?
The software licence meters running time only. When an instance is stopped, the hourly software charge stops accruing. Underlying AWS storage may still incur separate fees while data is retained. You can turn off non-production environments to reduce hours billed.
Does my bill change if I switch to a different instance size?
You pick one ARM64 instance type per running deployment, and the hourly software rate follows that choice. Moving to a larger size raises the hourly rate; a smaller size lowers it. The change applies to the new running instance, not retroactively. AWS infrastructure charges also shift with the size.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

For libraries planning a production launch
Koha Cloud Standard is the recommended paid single-server option. It supports a custom domain, HTTPS setup, Koha Theme Builder, and automated backups.
For libraries that need a more resilient setup, Koha Cloud Enterprise adds a managed database layer, shared storage, load balancing, backups, and application scaling.
KohaSupport provides documentation and general product guidance for launching and using this Koha Cloud AMI on AWS. Included guidance covers questions related to the preconfigured image, initial access, basic launch steps, and AWS Marketplace subscription issues.
Paid support, onboarding, data migration, staff training, advanced configuration, customisation, and managed services are available separately. AWS infrastructure, AWS account administration, and customer-specific Koha configuration remain the buyer's responsibility unless covered by a separate support or professional services agreement.
