Smaller instances like t3.small and t3.micro suit light client workloads, while larger sizes serve heavier use. The hourly rate follows the instance you launch, giving you many size and family options. The vendor recommends t3.small or larger, with a 20 GB minimum disk. There are no tiers or add-ons; you simply choose the instance that fits your needs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You get the Oracle Database Client 23ai software preinstalled on the EC2 instance you launch. This includes SQL*Plus, Oracle Net, and other client utilities to connect to remote Oracle databases. The rate also covers 24/7 vendor support with a 24-hour response commitment. You do not get a full database installation.
The software charge meters running time only. A stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. Underlying AWS storage for the 20 GB disk may still apply while the instance exists. Charges resume when you start the instance again.
