Key Qdata MS Variables
MS Subtype
MS is typically categorized into three clinical subtypes: RRMS, SPMS, and PPMS. These subtypes are distinguished by the frequency of relapses and the extent of the patient’s recovery.
Gait Status
A patient’s gait status, normal or abnormal, provides specific information about the patient’s level of disability at that clinical encounter.
EDSS Score
The EDSS score is a quantitative value used in clinical trials but very infrequently measured in routine medical practice to assess patient disability and disease progression.
Relapse
Relapse captures instances where the patient is experiencing, or has experienced, a recent relapse as documented by a clinician.
Ambulatory Status
The Ambulatory Status variable captures the use of an ambulatory device that is a result of impaired mobility.
MS Treatments
The MS treatment variable encompasses the combination of EHR and claims data to understand treatment patterns in patients with MS.
