Private, serverless email platform deployed inside your own AWS account via one-click CloudFormation. No servers to manage, no per-mailbox licensing, and full data sovereignty.
Serverless Mail - Private Email Hosting in Your Own AWS Account
Serverless Mail is a fully serverless email platform that deploys entirely within your AWS account using a single CloudFormation template. Every email you send and receive stays under your control - no third-party provider ever touches your data. Built for teams and organizations that need email hosting with complete data sovereignty, Serverless Mail eliminates the complexity of managing mail servers while keeping costs aligned with actual usage.
Your data never leaves your AWS account. Unlike traditional email providers that store your messages on shared infrastructure, Serverless Mail keeps every email in your own AWS environment. You maintain full ownership and control over your data at all times, making it well suited for organizations with strict data-residency or sovereignty requirements.
No per-mailbox licensing fees. Add team members without worrying about escalating per-seat costs. Because the platform runs on serverless AWS services, you pay only for the AWS resources you actually consume rather than a fixed per-user subscription.
One-click deployment with zero server management. Deploy the entire email platform through a single CloudFormation template. There are no EC2 instances to patch, no mail servers to configure, and no infrastructure to monitor. AWS managed services handle availability and scaling automatically.
Key Features
Complete data sovereignty - All email data is stored within your AWS account. No messages are routed through or stored by external services.
Mailbox isolation - Each mailbox is kept separate, preventing cross-access between users and reinforcing security boundaries.
Email authentication - Built-in support for DKIM, SPF, and DMARC to protect your domain reputation and reduce spoofing risk.
Modern webmail interface - A clean, React-based webmail client that works in any modern browser. Compose, read, and organize email without installing desktop software.
Serverless architecture - Built on AWS managed services including Amazon SES for email delivery. No always-on servers means near-zero cost when the system is idle.
CloudFormation deployment - The entire stack is defined as infrastructure-as-code, making it repeatable, auditable, and easy to tear down or redeploy.
Use Case: Data-Sovereign Email for Compliance-Conscious Teams
A growing startup needs professional email hosting on its own domain but cannot send company communications through a third-party email provider due to internal data-handling policies or regional data-residency requirements. The team deploys Serverless Mail into their own AWS account in their preferred region. All emails are stored within that account, giving the compliance team full visibility and control. New employees are onboarded by adding mailboxes through the platform - no per-seat license negotiations required. The serverless model means the startup pays only for what it uses, keeping costs manageable during early growth.
Access your email through the built-in webmail interface from any browser.
Known Limitations
Webmail only - Email is accessed through the built-in React webmail client. Traditional IMAP and POP3 protocols for desktop and mobile clients (Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail) are not supported, as they require always-on servers that would break the pay-per-use serverless model.
Client-side search - Full-text search runs in the browser over emails already loaded on the page. Server-side search across an entire mailbox would require a dedicated search cluster (such as Amazon OpenSearch), which would add significant fixed monthly cost.

Highlights
Complete Data Sovereignty - Your email data never leaves your AWS account. Every message, attachment, and mailbox is stored in your own infrastructure, giving you full control over data residency and compliance. Unlike SaaS email providers that store and process mail on their servers, Serverless Mail keeps everything within your account boundary, making it ideal for organizations with strict data handling requirements.
Zero Server Management with Enterprise Security - Built entirely on AWS managed services, there are no servers to provision, patch, or maintain. The platform includes enterprise-grade email authentication with DKIM, SPF, and DMARC configured out of the box, protecting your domain from spoofing and improving deliverability without manual setup.
One-Click Deployment with No Per-Mailbox Licensing - Launch a full-featured, modern webmail experience in minutes using a single CloudFormation template. There is no per-mailbox licensing fee, so costs stay predictable as your team grows. Each mailbox is isolated for security, and the serverless architecture means near-zero infrastructure costs when the system is idle.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pricing is based on the duration and terms of your contract with the vendor. This entitles you to a specified quantity of use for the contract duration. If you choose not to renew or replace your contract before it ends, access to these entitlements will expire.
Additional AWS infrastructure costs may apply. Use the AWS Pricing Calculator to estimate your infrastructure costs.
This listing offers one option: the Standard Plan, billed under a contract as a unit-based subscription. One subscription covers the whole platform, with no limit on the number of mailboxes you create. Pricing does not scale per user or per mailbox, so adding team members does not change your subscription count. You deploy the platform into your own AWS account, where separate AWS service usage (like email sending and storage) is billed by AWS directly. The quantity of units you buy sets your subscription scope.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one unit of the Standard Plan cover?
One subscription covers the entire platform deployed in your AWS account. It supports an unlimited number of mailboxes, so the unit maps to the platform itself, not to any per-user or per-mailbox count. Adding team members does not require buying more units.
Does my subscription cost change as I add mailboxes or send more email?
The subscription cost stays fixed regardless of how many mailboxes you create. Sending volume does not change the subscription. However, the platform runs in your own AWS account, so AWS bills you separately for its services like email sending, storage, and database usage based on actual consumption.
What email features are not included in this platform?
The platform does not provide IMAP or POP3 access, so desktop and mobile mail clients are not supported. Mail is accessed only through the built-in web client. Search runs in the browser over loaded emails, not across an entire mailbox. The vendor can build these as custom features on request.
