Overview
Fairwinds Insights was created for platform teams that need to enable developers on Kubernetes. The software uniquely solves this problem by implementing policies across the development lifecycle to standardize Kubernetes. It saves time, resources and frustration by enabling developers to create secure, cloud efficient and reliable applications.
Fairwinds Insights integrates into the development lifecycle to apply standardization with policy enforcement. Platform teams implement out of the box policies and customized policies. Code is scanned at the time of commit against policies. Any identified issues are prohibited from entering the cluster if they do not meet standards. Insights enables a self-service Kubernetes platform that reduces code review cycles saving both application development and platform teams time.
Using Fairwinds Insights, issues identified in the cluster can automatically create tickets with remediation advice for developers. This increases the code quality, reduces drift and increases development velocity. It can help organizations adopt Kubernetes faster and increase app release velocity that creates more opportunities to generate revenue.
Highlights
- Policy and Guardrails: Insights includes hundreds of built-in policies, AI policy creation and integrations with open source policy engines like Fairwinds Polaris, OPA and Kyverno for customization. Policy and Kubernetes best practices are enforced at every stage of the development lifecycle.
- Cost and Reliability: Kubernetes workload cost allocation provides visibility into costs incurred across multiple clusters, aggregations, and custom time periods. Kubernetes cost showback reports usage costs to finance teams, allocates to developers and tracks savings over time. Use actual AWS cloud bills to calculate Kubernetes costs by workload, namespace or label. Automated rightsizing helps maximize efficiency of CPU and memory to demonstrate responsible spending and prevent app crashes.
- Security and Compliance: Fairwinds Insights continuous Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) security scanning helps DevSecOps make Kubernetes and containers secure. Includes container vulnerability scanning, image upgrade recommendations, multiple shift-left integrations, compliance mappings and evidence. Automated Fix PRs automatically fix 42% of Kubernetes misconfiguration, lowering the cost of achieving security and compliance standards.
