LaunchPad is software that runs on an OCI instance, allowing you to deploy or "launch", any number of CMDB-360 satellites. You may launch any number of different satellites from the same LaunchPad, including the OCI Satellite and the Automation Satellite.
LaunchPad uses container technology to allow you to run any satellite container image. In order to integrate the Docker server with the CMDB-360 Base Station graphical user interface, we have created proprietary management software that runs on your LaunchPad server and automatically integrates the systems together, providing you a simple and seamless experience in deploying satellites.
Highlights
LaunchPad simplifies the deployment of CMDB-360 Satellites by allowing you to point and click deploy directly from your CMDB-360 Portal.
LaunchPad may be directly linked to a specific customer, thereby allowing the deployment of satellites specifically for that customer.
LaunchPad regularly updates CMDB-360 Satellite images so your CMDB-360 Satellites are always up to date with the latest release!
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
You pay by the hour for the compute instance size that runs your LaunchPad. All three options are ARM-based instance types that differ by capacity: t4g.medium, t4g.large, and t4g.xlarge. Pick the size that matches how many Satellites you plan to run, since one LaunchPad can launch many Satellites on a single Linux host. Billing scales with the hours you keep the instance running and the size you select. There are no separate tiers or feature packages — the choice is purely about compute capacity.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What do the t4g.medium, t4g.large, and t4g.xlarge sizes actually run for this product?
Each size runs a LaunchPad on a single Linux host. The LaunchPad uses container technology to launch Satellites that discover assets and stream data to your Base Station. Choose a size based on how many Satellites you plan to run at once, since larger sizes carry more compute capacity.
Am I charged when the LaunchPad instance is stopped or paused?
You pay by the hour only while the instance runs. A fully stopped instance stops accruing hourly software charges. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees. The hourly meter tracks running time for the size you selected.
If I need to run more Satellites, do I add instances or move to a bigger size?
One LaunchPad can launch many Satellites on a single host, so you often scale by choosing a larger instance size rather than adding hosts. Your bill reflects the size you select and the hours you run it. Switching sizes changes the hourly rate that applies.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
In order to use the CMDB-360 LaunchPad, you must first subscribe to the CMDB-360 service. The LaunchPad must be deployed after the CMDB-360 Base Station has been configured and a customer AWS account has been added.
In order to extend your ability to gather discovery data from customer environments, we suggest you deploy a "remote" or customer attached LaunchPads. Remote LaunchPads are associated with a respective customer account. This means that all of the satellites deployed from a remote LaunchPad belongs to the specified customer. This AWS Marketplace appliance allows you to deploy customer LaunchPads into your customer AWS Account by providing a simplified "pre-built" AMI image.
AWS Support is a one-on-one, fast-response support channel that is staffed 24x7x365 with experienced and technical support engineers. The service helps customers of all sizes and technical abilities to successfully utilize the products and features provided by Amazon Web Services.
