Overview
CMDB-360 Introduction To LaunchPad
Introducing the CMDB-360 LaunchPad - a simplified way to deploy multiple satellites into an environment.
LaunchPad is software that runs on an OCI instance, allowing you to deploy or "launch", any number of CMDB-360 satellites. You may launch any number of different satellites from the same LaunchPad, including the OCI Satellite and the Automation Satellite.
LaunchPad uses container technology to allow you to run any satellite container image. In order to integrate the Docker server with the CMDB-360 Base Station graphical user interface, we have created proprietary management software that runs on your LaunchPad server and automatically integrates the systems together, providing you a simple and seamless experience in deploying satellites.
Highlights
- LaunchPad simplifies the deployment of CMDB-360 Satellites by allowing you to point and click deploy directly from your CMDB-360 Portal.
- LaunchPad may be directly linked to a specific customer, thereby allowing the deployment of satellites specifically for that customer.
- LaunchPad regularly updates CMDB-360 Satellite images so your CMDB-360 Satellites are always up to date with the latest release!

Amazon Machine Image (AMI)
An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
In order to use the CMDB-360 LaunchPad, you must first subscribe to the CMDB-360 service. The LaunchPad must be deployed after the CMDB-360 Base Station has been configured and a customer AWS account has been added.
In order to extend your ability to gather discovery data from customer environments, we suggest you deploy a "remote" or customer attached LaunchPads. Remote LaunchPads are associated with a respective customer account. This means that all of the satellites deployed from a remote LaunchPad belongs to the specified customer. This AWS Marketplace appliance allows you to deploy customer LaunchPads into your customer AWS Account by providing a simplified "pre-built" AMI image.
