CMDB-360 AWS Satellite - a modern and secure way to view and access the AWS resources your team manages, all in a single view.
The CMDB-360 platform provides MSPs a complete, 360 degree view of all their customers and associated business services, cloud assets, metrics, people, documents and events. The AWS Satellite provides a secure way to connect to your customers' AWS organizations and accounts to populate the CMDB.
The CMDB-360 AWS Satellite provides visibility into the cloud resources provisioned within an Amazon Web Services (AWS) account. Discovery rosters of provisioned cloud resources are sent securely to the CMDB-360 Base Station on a regular basis to aid in the management of customer cloud assets.
No proprietary information from within discovered assets is accessed or stored on the CMDB-360 Base Station database...only the roster and cloud metadata of discovered cloud resources are recorded.
CMDB-360 users (with proper permissions) may obtain additional details about a cloud resource via the CMDB-360 portal that is streamed from the Satellite to the Base Station and viewed on-demand.
The following cloud resource object types are accessed:
Discovers various cloud resources within the AWS account and regularly sends non-sensitive resource details to the CMDB-360 Base Station for asset management.
Provides the CMDB-360 Base Station on-demand access to asset information without storing sensitive information outside the AWS account.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
You pay by the hour based on the compute size you pick for the AWS Satellite. The three options are t4g.medium, t4g.large, and t4g.xlarge. These are instance sizes, not feature tiers. Each does the same job: it runs inside your AWS environment and streams asset data to the Base Station. The difference is compute capacity. You choose the size that fits your workload, and billing scales with the hours you run it. Larger sizes carry higher hourly rates.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does the AWS Satellite actually do while it runs on my chosen instance size?
The Satellite runs inside your AWS environment and connects to your AWS organizations and accounts. It discovers resources and streams non-sensitive asset rosters to the Base Station over a restricted REST API. Asset detail streams only while a user is actively viewing records, and data is never saved on disk outside your environment.
Am I charged when the Satellite instance is stopped or powered off?
Charges accrue per hour while the instance runs. A stopped instance does not accrue software hourly charges. Stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage fees, but the hourly software rate meters running time only.
Can one Satellite deployment cover multiple AWS accounts, or do I need a separate instance per account?
One Satellite connects securely to AWS organizations and accounts, so a single running instance can discover across accounts. You pick one instance size and pay hourly for the hours it runs. You do not deploy a separate paid instance for each account.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.
