Pruna AI is a model laboratory and inference provider. We build and optimize our own performance models in-house and serve them as serverless endpoints through the Pruna API, tuned for the best trade-off between speed, cost, and quality. We also maintain pruna, an open-source optimization framework for developers who want to compress their own models.
The Pruna API is the way to access our performance models through web requests authenticated with an API key that you will create. By creating your account on the AWS Marketplace, your billing to be through AWS, but otherwise the service is the same as the regular Pruna API.
You will find a list of AI models for many usecases, like image generation, image editing, video generation, upscaling, etc.
After subscribing, click "Setup my account" to create your account. Once your email is verified, you'll be redirected to our access management portal to generate API keys. See the full model list at https://docs.api.pruna.ai/guides/models. All billing is handled through AWS based on your usage.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
Pruna API uses a single usage-based dimension billed in units. You pay only for what you consume, with no upfront commitment or fixed term. Units measure your consumption as you run inference through the API. Your cost scales directly with usage: more inference calls consume more units, and lighter usage consumes fewer. This model fits the API's on-demand, production-ready access, where you call performance models without setup or fine-tuning. Because there is one dimension, there are no tiers or size choices to compare. Total spend rises and falls purely with how many units you use.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one unit measure when I run inference through the API?
A unit measures your consumption as you call the performance models. Charges track the inference work you request, such as generating an image or video. Different models involve different inference times, so heavier generation requests consume more units than lighter ones.
Am I charged when I am not making any API calls?
No. Billing is usage-based, so units accrue only when you run inference through the API. If you make no calls, you consume no units and incur no software charges. Cost rises and falls purely with how much you generate.
Do I need to set up or fine-tune models before I am billed?
No. The models are production-ready from the first call, with no setup or fine-tuning required. You are billed only for the units you consume when running inference, not for any preparation or configuration step.
