You pay by the hour for this hardened Oracle Linux 9.3 image, billed per running instance. The many pricing lines all map to specific Amazon EC2 instance types, not to feature tiers or plan levels. Your hourly rate depends on which instance type you launch. Smaller types like t3.micro cost less per hour, while large memory, compute, storage, and accelerated types cost more. Pricing scales with the size and class of the hardware you choose. You can run multiple instances at once, and each one bills separately by the hour.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
You pay for the hardened Oracle Linux 9.3 software running on the Amazon EC2 instance type you launch. The rate is per running instance per hour. It covers the vendor's pre-configured, security-hardened operating system image, separate from the underlying AWS infrastructure charges.
The software charge meters running time only. A fully stopped instance does not accrue the hourly software fee. Keep in mind that stopped instances may still incur underlying AWS storage charges for attached volumes, which are billed separately by AWS, not by this software listing.
Each running instance bills independently by the hour at the rate for its instance type. Charges do not pool or combine into one meter. Running three instances means three separate hourly charges on the same invoice. Mixing instance types means each line uses its own matching rate.

Usage instructions

Info regarding virtual machines The operating system does not save any sensitive information for the customers. The customer is responsible for saving any information, sensitive or not. The data saved on the volumes is not encrypted by default. All instance authentication must use key pair access, not password-based authentication. AMIs does not contain passwords, authentication keys, key pairs, security keys, or other credentials. PasswordAuthentication is set to NO in sshd_config. The application does not make use of any encryption techniques.
Troubleshooting Navigate to your Amazon EC2 console and verify that you're in the correct region. Choose Instance and select your launched instance. Select the server to display your metadata page and choose the Status checks tab at the bottom of the page to review if your status checks passed or failed.
