Dimensions summary
You pay by the hour based on the EC2 instance type you run. The 18 options are all instance sizes, not feature tiers. They span the t2, t3, t3a, m3, and m4 families, ranging from large through various xlarge sizes up to 16xlarge. Larger instances provide more compute and memory, so your hourly rate scales with the capacity you select. You can start, stop, and switch instance sizes as your needs change, and your charges reflect only the hours each instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
The hourly rate covers the running software on your chosen EC2 instance, plus security and support from the vendor. It does not cover the underlying AWS compute, storage, or data transfer. Those EC2 and storage costs appear separately on your AWS bill based on the instance type you run.
Software charges meter running time only. When an instance is stopped, hourly software charges stop accruing. You may still pay AWS for attached storage such as EBS volumes while the instance is stopped, but the software fee reflects running hours.
The vendor provides security and support for the open-source application across on-premises, private, and public cloud setups. This includes troubleshooting, usage guidance, security patching, and version migration help. Support covers diagnosing issues, interpreting traces and dumps, and resolving installation or code-related problems across your stack.
