NativeDefence NSM Platform is a network security monitoring and threat detection solution designed to provide deep visibility into network traffic and help security teams identify, investigate, and respond to cyber threats. It enables organizations to monitor network activity, detect suspicious behavior, analyze security events, and gain actionable insights across their network infrastructure.
The platform provides network security monitoring (NSM), intrusion detection, intrusion prevention, threat detection, protocol analysis, traffic inspection, network telemetry, security event analysis, and network forensics capabilities. It is designed to help security teams improve network visibility, accelerate threat investigation, and strengthen their overall security posture.
NativeDefence NSM Platform is suitable for enterprise networks, government organizations, public-sector organizations, and SMEs looking for a scalable and vendor-agnostic approach to network security monitoring and threat detection.
Highlights
Advanced Network Security Monitoring: Gain deep visibility into network traffic with continuous monitoring, traffic inspection, protocol analysis, and network telemetry to identify suspicious activity and potential security threats.
Threat Detection and Network Forensics: Detect suspicious and malicious network activity using signature-based and behavioral detection, while providing the visibility and evidence needed for investigation and incident response.
Comprehensive Network Visibility: Monitor and analyze network activity across enterprise, government, and SME environments with a vendor-agnostic approach designed to strengthen security posture and accelerate threat investigation.
AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
This software is free to use, so you pay only for the AWS compute it runs on. You pick one of twelve instance types, all in the 4xlarge size and billed by the hour. Each option maps to a different EC2 compute family or generation, including compute-optimized instances with varied networking, storage, and processor profiles. Your cost scales with how long the instance runs and which instance type you select. Choose based on the throughput and network performance your network security monitoring workload needs. No commitment term applies; hourly billing continues while the instance runs.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What specifications do I get with a 4xlarge instance type?
Each option runs on a 4xlarge EC2 instance, which typically provides 16 vCPUs. The exact memory, storage, and network throughput depend on which compute family or generation you pick. Compute-optimized families favor processing power. Some generations add faster networking or local storage for heavier traffic inspection.
Am I charged when the instance is stopped or paused?
The software itself is free, so no software license fee accrues at any time. AWS compute charges apply only while the instance runs. Fully stopped instances do not accrue hourly compute charges, though underlying AWS storage fees may still apply while resources remain allocated.
How do I choose among the twelve instance types for my monitoring workload?
All twelve run the same platform, which inspects network traffic, captures packets, and runs threat detection. Choose a newer generation or network-optimized family when you need higher throughput for high-performance traffic analysis. Pick based on the inspection speed and network bandwidth your east-west monitoring demands.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Usage instructions
Getting started with NativeDefence NSM Platform:
Launch the AMI on a supported instance type ([e.g. m5.xlarge or larger]) in a VPC subnet with internet access.
Configure the security group: allow TCP 443 (web console) and TCP 22 (SSH) from your admin IP range only. [Add any sensor/collector ports, e.g. UDP 4789 for VPC Traffic Mirroring.]
Wait about [5] minutes for initialization, then open https://<instance-public-IP-or-DNS> in a browser.
Log in with username [admin] and the EC2 instance ID as the initial password. You will be prompted to set a new password on first login.
To monitor traffic, set up VPC Traffic Mirroring with this instance's monitoring ENI as the target. [Or describe your actual traffic ingestion method.]
Under [Settings > Sensors], register your network segments and enable detection policies.
Requirements: minimum [4] vCPU, [16] GiB RAM, [100] GiB EBS volume; [list any IAM role or permissions the instance needs].
