I rate 1Kosmos BlockID an overall nine out of ten.

My main use case for 1Kosmos BlockID  is for authentication where I can skip the password and directly plug in the pen drive to start using it. I would describe it as a kind of remote identity verification where I can directly authenticate myself without using a password and escape the login process. I have used it for at least six months.

I can explain what I was using 1Kosmos BlockID  for by navigating to an SSO  portal and displaying QR code challenges with access granted. For example, when a user needs to log in to a corporate single sign-on portal such as Okta or Microsoft Entra ID , it first triggers the request. Then the laptop browser goes into the company custom login page instead of requiring password entry. The user can input their corporate username and hit next. Then there will be an identity provider delegate. The laptop screen instantly presents a secure, time-sensitive QR code. Using the 1Kosmos app on the smartphone, the built-in scanner can snap the QR code on the laptop screen. You can configure the system to send an encrypted push notification to the phone instead of scanning the QR code. This is a kind of biometric match, or identity verification. The app verifies whether the human matches their biometric data against the cryptographic secure identity wallet, similar to what I currently use with Microsoft. It is a handshake where the signed token is stored inside the app on the mobile and sent back to the 1Kosmos cloud engine, where it validates the registered public key as well as the passwords for the actual biometrics. Then it gives access and establishes the SSO  session.

I would describe desktop-to-cloud authentication as a way to eliminate the phone entirely for a user working with 1Kosmos BlockID. Instead, I can use it on the corporate laptop by leveraging the computer's built-in security chip, such as a TPM or Mac. This way, there is no need for dependency on the mobile app. I can directly use the company laptop's facial recognition for single sign-on.

Regarding the best features that 1Kosmos BlockID offers, it reduces the effort of saving passwords in my memory. One of the best features is that it is very similar to what Okta Verify or Microsoft Authenticator  does. I have used them previously and currently use Microsoft Authenticator. One of the best features is that it uses live ID and advanced facial recognition technology which helps with anti-spoofing, or liveness testing. The advantage is non-repudiation, and it is 100% cryptographic. I can use it for high-risk administration actions.

With other tools, the advanced facial recognition feature of 1Kosmos BlockID would need to be in the right light or with more visibility. However, even though there is low visibility in the room or in a darker room, the app still recognizes my face. Whether I am in the left view or the right view, it still recognizes my face, whereas with other tools, I need to be very straight to the camera and should be within the proper distance.

I always need to give one point lesser to motivate the team to work more on the app and provide better features in the next release. One point lesser will make the team work more concentrating on new features and become a competitor in the current market.

I used 1Kosmos BlockID in my previous organization for at least six months, as they had provided this pen drive for one of the laptops I was temporarily using. This is the way I performed my self-authentication.

I feel that is a little bit of sensitive data. However, I could say that the majority of the issues were related to basic app configuration in the initial steps, but not more than that. There were issues with multifactor authentication where the ID or the app was not able to let me in. Those kinds of issues were very low.

Earlier, we used to have multiple complaints about Microsoft and Okta. However, when we used 1Kosmos BlockID, I have seen that the tickets in ServiceNow  were very few. The support for this app was really great and it used to have a very quick turnaround.

I would highly recommend using 1Kosmos BlockID because I came to know that purchasing the license is lesser when compared to Microsoft or Okta. The support team is really efficient and the turnaround time is very low. I would highly suggest it.

I have worked on user provisioning and de-provisioning, configuring and authenticating policies, integration applications, troubleshooting authentication issues, and ensuring secure access to business applications. I have also been involved in day-to-day administration, user support, and monitoring of 1Kosmos BlockID  environment.

1Kosmos BlockID is used in our environment for managing the user's identity life cycle, including provisioning and de-provisioning. For user provisioning, whenever a new employee joins our organization, we receive that onboarding request from HR or the hiring manager. First, we verify the user details and create or synchronize the user account with our identity source, such as Active Directory. Then we assign the required roles, groups, and access policies based on the user's department and job role. After that, we configure the appropriate authentication methods, such as multi-factor authentication, and provision access to the required business applications through single sign-on. Finally, we test the access and confirm successful onboarding with the user and application owner. For de-provisioning, whenever an employee resigns or is terminated, we receive an off-boarding request through the ITSM  process. We immediately disable the user account, revoke all active sessions and MFA registrations, remove group membership and application access, and document the action for the audit process. This ensures that the user no longer has access to any corporate resources and helps maintain security compliance.

Apart from user provisioning and de-provisioning, I have been involved in the day-to-day administration and support of 1Kosmos BlockID environment. My responsibilities include monitoring authentication activities, troubleshooting login and MFA use issues, managing user access requests, supporting SSO  integrations, reviewing security policies, and coordinating with application owners and internal teams. I also participate in incident resolutions, user onboarding support, access reviews, and audit-related activities to ensure compliance and security standards are maintained. This hands-on experience helps me develop a strong understanding of identity and access management processes and best practices.

In my experience, the best features of 1Kosmos BlockID include passwordless authentication, multi-factor authentication, single sign-on, user provisioning, de-provisioning, and strong security with easy integration capabilities. Passwordless authentication has helped our team improve security and reduce password-related support tickets and account lockout issues. It also provides a better user experience through biometric and MFA-based authentications. The easy integration capabilities help us connect enterprise applications and identity systems quickly, using standard protocols, which reduces deployment time and simplifies user access management. Other useful features include single sign-on, user lifecycle management, self-service options, and centralized administration.

1Kosmos BlockID is a strong identity platform. However, it can be improved by providing more detailed reporting and analytics, simplifying the administration interface, enhancing third-party application integrations, and offering more advanced troubleshooting and monitoring features for administrators.

In addition to reporting and integration, I believe 1Kosmos BlockID could be improved by enhancing the user interface to make administration and troubleshooting more intuitive. More detailed product documentation, implementation guides, and real-world use cases would also help administrators and support teams. Additionally, improved dashboards, logging, and monitoring capabilities would make it easier to identify and resolve authentication and integration issues quickly.

I have been using 1Kosmos BlockID for the last two years.

In my experience, 1Kosmos BlockID has been a stable and reliable platform. We experienced good availability and consistent performance in our production environment. While there were occasionally issues related to integration or user onboarding, these were manageable and did not significantly impact business operations.

In my experience, 1Kosmos BlockID has good scalability. It can support a growing number of users, applications, and authentication requests while maintaining performance and security. This makes it suitable for enterprise environments and future expansions.

Customer support has been good. I would rate the customer support a seven out of ten.

Before implementing 1Kosmos BlockID, we were using traditional Active Directory-based authentication along with conventional MFA solutions. We migrated to 1Kosmos BlockID to strengthen security through passwordless authentication and improve the user experience, centralize identity management, and enhance compliance and identity verification capabilities.

Our organization procured 1Kosmos BlockID through the AWS Marketplace . This simplified the procurement and deployment process and allowed us to integrate the solutions more efficiently with our existing AWS-based infrastructure.

At this moment, I do not have the exact metrics available. However, based on our operational experience, we observed a significant reduction in password reset requests and authentication-related support tickets after implementing passwordless authentication and MFA. We also saw improvements in user onboarding efficiency and overall user experience, which I cannot provide percentage metrics for. The feedback from both users and the IT support team was very positive.

During the evaluation process, we considered other identity and access management solutions; however, 1Kosmos BlockID was selected because of its strong passwordless authentication capabilities, identity verification features, security model, and ease of integration into our existing environment.

My advice to organizations considering 1Kosmos BlockID would be to clearly define their identity and access management requirements, especially around MFA, passwordless authentication, and user lifecycle management. I would also recommend conducting a proof of concept and validating integrations with experienced applications and infrastructure before full deployment. Overall, 1Kosmos BlockID is a strong solution for organizations looking to improve security, user experience, and identity management. I would rate this product an eight out of ten.

My main use case for 1Kosmos BlockID  is to identify collaborators here around the company. I have used it for zero credential sharing, so collaborators do not use a physical carnet; they use a digital one with the credentials instead.

For my main use case, I also use 1Kosmos BlockID  for contracts, so I can complete that process digitally instead of in analog format.

To improve 1Kosmos BlockID, I would prefer for more people here in the Dominican Republic to use it, so it will be easier for everyone nationally.

As for needed improvements for 1Kosmos BlockID, fingerprints could potentially be added, although I understand it may be difficult to implement.
