East Daley Midstream Asset Database Overview
East Daley’s Midstream Asset Database is the industry's largest and most comprehensive aggregation of financial and operational data for North American midstream assets. The dataset provides access to over 1,000 North American midstream assets with asset-level information such as owner, location, throughputs, rates, revenues, expenses, and more. The dataset includes operational and financial detail for both historical and future estimates. This database is updated at least quarterly and will grow with new assets, companies, and metadata tags which will allow deeper analysis. Asset analysis is fed by East Daley’s industry-leading, integrated Commodity and Capital Markets asset-level analysis. Each asset is fundamentally forecasted considering the competitive dynamics of the asset relative to other assets in a balanced approach to commodity market dynamics. Use Cases
- Search historical and forecasted financial and operational data for over 1,000 midstream assets which may include attributes such as throughputs, rates, earnings, revenue, expenses, EBITDA, location, and more.
- See financial and operational information for midstream assets that are not available anywhere else.
- View assets owned by midstream companies listed above and identify the assets contributing the most amount of cash flow versus the lowest.
- Identify non-core assets that publicly traded midstream companies may be willing to divest.
- Compare fee rates across multiple assets, owners and basins.
Metadata
The dataset contains over 1,000 midstream assets. An asset is each company’s unique representation of their ownership in a physical asset. For example, OKE’s 50% ownership of Overland Pass Pipeline and WMB’s 50% ownership shows up as one asset for each company. So, although Overland Pass Pipeline is one physical asset it appears as two assets in the dataset, once with OKE and once with WMB. Each with different data based on how East Daley models that asset within that company. Assets within the dataset are each assigned an Asset Description, the Ticker of who owns the asset, and a Segment Name identifying the business segment the company reports the asset in. Each asset will also be assigned at least one Asset Type and one Commodity Type depending on the nature of the asset. Pipelines are given an origin(s) and destination(s) while all other assets (e.g., Gathering & Processing, storage, terminals, etc.) are given a location. The table below shows the count of records in the dataset by asset type. If an asset has multiple types it will be counted twice in the table below.
| Asset Type | Count |
|---|---|
| Gathering & Processing | 254 |
| Gas Pipeline | 213 |
| Crude Pipeline | 174 |
| Storage | 130 |
| NGL Pipeline | 100 |
| Terminals | 73 |
| Crude Gathering | 53 |
| Products Pipeline | 39 |
| Fractionation | 35 |
| Marketing | 27 |
| Exports | 17 |
| All Other | 122 |
The line items associated with each asset depend on how East Daley models the particular asset and how the midstream company reports. For example, the cash flow metric for TRGP Gathering & Processing assets may be operating margin while OKE is shown to EBITDA and KMI is shown in EBDA. East Daley is continually evolving how the assets are modeled so assets and line items may be added, modified or removed as company financial models are update each quarter.
