Locate everything, everywhere. Combain provides smart positioning solutions able to track any connected object in the world, outdoors and indoors. The positioning solutions are deployed world-wide and used in many areas.
The Combain Location API is a robust and innovative solution designed to deliver precise positioning services by leveraging a combination of mobile cell towers, LoRaWAN gateways, indoor WiFi, and Bluetooth access point data. By submitting the radio signals in the proximity of a device to this geolocation API, it will respond with the most likely geographical coordinates for that device.
This API provides developers and organizations with powerful tools to create location-based services and applications. Integrating advanced algorithms and a rich global database, the Combain Location API ensures fast and accurate location resolution seamlessly outdoors and indoors, making it a cornerstone for various industries and use cases.
You can subscribe to and access any of Combain's services through the same Location API, thus providing a genuinely seamless outdoor-indoor positioning service.

This GNSS alternative benefits customers globally from various industry segments. IoT companies use the API for seamless indoor and outdoor tracking of everything from stationary refrigerators and smart meters to constantly moving medical equipment in hospitals. Thanks to the API's security and privacy, police and security agencies also use it to track smartphones and vehicles.
The Combain Location API uses Combain's Location Database, built on billions of GPS position measurements and radio data from beacons such as cell towers, indoor WiFi access points, and BLE beacons.
Through crowdsourcing, we receive learning data from customers and partners, resulting in millions of new measurements every day. Then, we use our proprietary modeling algorithms and extensive server power to calculate a radio model for every beacon worldwide from all these billions of data points, resulting in the Combain Location Database.
To locate a device, you send an HTTP request to the web-based Combain Location API, providing radio data from the device. The most likely position of the device is then calculated based on all the radio models stored in the Combain Location Database.

AWS Marketplace now accepts line of credit payments through the PNC Vendor Finance program. This program is available to select AWS customers in the US, excluding NV, NC, ND, TN, & VT.
You pay based on usage, with a single dimension that bills per API request processed. There are no tiers or fixed plans to choose from. Your cost scales directly with the number of requests the Location API handles. Each successful location lookup counts as one request. Some options add to that count: a reverse geocode lookup or an indoor information request each count as an extra request. Database contributions sent with GPS data do not count as requests. You can cache successful results per your license terms to help manage request volume.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What counts as one billable request processed by the Location API?
Each successful location lookup counts as one request. Asking for a reverse geocode on the calculated location adds one extra request. Requesting indoor information also adds one extra request. Database contributions sent with GPS data, where age is 0 and a cell or WiFi is included, do not count as requests.
Does a failed or not-found lookup still count toward my request charges?
Charges normally apply per successful request. If a cell or WiFi is not found, you receive a 404 "notFound" response. The vendor advises waiting at least 24 hours before repeating the same query and avoiding retry loops to limit unnecessary server load. Check your license agreement for exact charging terms.
Can I reduce my request count by reusing earlier location results?
Yes. You can cache a successful result on your devices or servers for up to normally 24 hours, subject to your license agreement. This lets you reuse a known location without sending a new request. Multi-cell requests are hard to cache, since neighboring cells and signal strength change between queries.
