CrystalBridge® Interface Discovery - Know Your Data Streams

Interface Discovery, a component of SNP's CrystalBridge® transformation platform, was designed to ensure that your organization accounts for all communications in and out of your SAP system(s).

The increasing complexity of SAP-based IT landscapes makes it difficult to keep track of the overall communication infrastructure and system topology. Strategic planning, but also operational issues related to upgrades, transformations, sourcing strategies, security and audits as well as documentation are difficult to answer. Furthermore, the identification of interfaces is usually a manual task and therefore time consuming, expensive, potentially incomplete and results are outdated quickly. The challenges managing the interface landscape are many:

• Keeping track of decommissioned of interfaces
• Maintaining property security and compliance

CrystalBridge® Iterface Discovery allows you to:

Interface Discovery supports the following communication protocols: RFC, WS / http, EDI/IDOC, DBCO, FILE (GUI / server). It is extensible via Customer API (Ca) and can integrate into EAM / CMDB tools and with SAP Solution Manager.

There are two components to this offering:

• The license to use SNP's CrystalBridge® cloud-based platform and locally-installed software
• Services efforts to render, analyze, and present the findings

As part of this offering, SNP will:

• Send a transport to the SAP production system(s) in scope containing the CrystalBridge® Interface Discovery executable
• Provide instructions for installing and running the executable
• Provide cloud tenant hosting and operational services for the duration of the analysis - typically two (2) month duration
• Provide access to CrystalBridge for the duration of the analysis period
• Conduct a standard analysis of the received output and provision the results

Customer Requirements:

• Provide a central point of contact (project manager) who has the authority to make decisions
• Accept, install, and run the Interface Discovery solution in the in-scope production environment(s)
• Provide BASIS and DB support to monitor the running program if required (due to DB size)
• Send the metadata extract report to SNP for rendering and analysis

Deliverables:

A high-level analysis that will include

• A summary of all inbound and outbound interfaces
• Usage statistics
• “Where-used” details
• Identification of unused connections
• A graphical representation of the analysis results online in SNP CrystalBridge
• A high-level summary contained in MS Powerpoint
