The software itself is free. You pay only the hourly rate for the AWS EC2 instance you run it on. Each dimension maps to one instance type, billed per hour. Pricing scales with the instance you pick. Options span general-purpose, compute-optimized, memory-optimized, storage-optimized, and accelerated computing families, each in sizes from small to metal. Larger or more specialized instances carry higher hourly rates. You choose the instance that fits your workload size and type, and billing follows your actual running hours.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
Each dimension maps to one running EC2 instance, billed per hour. The OpenCloudOS software itself is free, so you pay only AWS compute time. Separate charges apply for system disks, data disks, and network bandwidth. The hourly rate reflects CPU and memory for that instance type.
Software charges meter running hours only. The OpenCloudOS software is free, so stopping an instance ends compute billing for the instance type you selected. Underlying AWS storage for attached disks may still accrue while an instance is stopped. You pay for actual running hours of the instance you choose.
Each instance type is a separate dimension with its own hourly rate. To change size, you select a different instance type and run that one instead. Billing follows whichever instance you run, by the hour. There is no commitment, so you can switch families or sizes as your workload needs change.
