All AlmaLinux OS images are built with SELinux set to enforcing mode.

AlmaLinux OS 10 (arm64) software carries no license charge. Every dimension listed is an AWS EC2 arm64 instance type billed per hour. You pay only for the AWS compute you run, not for the operating system itself. The many options map to AWS instance families and sizes, from small shared types like t4g.micro through large bare-metal types like c8gb.metal-48xl. Your hourly rate scales with the instance size and family you pick. Choose the instance that fits your workload; the pricing follows AWS instance selection rather than any software tier.
Top-of-mind questions for buyers
What does one hourly unit cover, and what am I actually paying for?
Each unit is one AWS EC2 arm64 instance running for one hour. The AlmaLinux OS software itself carries no charge. Your hourly rate reflects only the AWS compute for the instance size and family you launch, such as t4g.micro or c8g.large.
Am I charged for the software when my instance is stopped or paused?
The software licence is free, so no software charge accrues at any time. When an instance is stopped, you stop paying for its running compute hours. Underlying AWS storage or other AWS resources may still bill separately, but the operating system adds nothing.
How does my cost change when I move to a bigger instance type?
Cost follows AWS instance selection, not any software tier. A metal or large multi-core type like c8gb.metal-48xl carries a higher hourly compute rate than a small type like t4g.micro. The software price stays zero across every option, so only AWS compute changes.

An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources.
